Ok good, I'm glad. My Ukrainian wife and I also went through this process, and I too try to pass on my experiences and knowledge for the benefit of others. I too try to pass on correct information, but I'm humble enough to realize that I might not always be right. So when I'm not 100% sure of something, I make sure to indicate that.

Thanks.

You don't need to file for removing conditions until August of this year.

To the OP, the reason I was so vague in my answer and steered you to read the Guides here ( button at the top of this page) is because of you not knowing even the basic info (like the name of the visa for the child, K-2) and anything about what has to happen afterwards and that I believe most states don't do blood test anymore fir a marriage license, you really don't know much about the process but you are asking detailed questions.

So, so not to confuse you with a data dump of info, please read the Guides and digest what's there and read the stickies at the top of the K-1 forum and this forum and THEN ask questions. You may get overwhelmed but the process is actually quite straightforward....even simpletons like us here have done all on our own, with each others help. Sounds like you gave the time but now is the time yo get started.

etripke,

I just returned from my 6th visit. My job is somewhat seasonal, I work all summer, and I try to spend Dec-Jan-Feb in Ukraine. This last trip I flew over, we then flew to Antalya, Turkey and spent a week at The Kremlin Palace, flew back to Ukraine for 10 days, then back home. I've been learning Russian for a while, she is an Art Teacher, and I almost have my Bachelors in Secondary Education. Her 9 year old daughter and I get along great, and her 22 year old daughter lives in the US.

I guess what I was trying to say is I've done a lot more than just visit once, I'm comfortable in Ukraine. Mila and I have been dating for about a year and half, I have a great relationship with both of her daughters, I know most of her friends in Ukraine, spent Christmas and Easter in Ukraine, I've put a lot of thinking, time, and work into this relationship. My only problem is navigating the waters of the bureaucrats and red tape.

When I finish my Bachelor's in Education next year, and I already have my TEFL Certificate, I could teach English in Ukraine except the pay is so poor. If they paid decent wages, I wouldn't mind living in Ukraine for a while.

There are documents that you will want to take with you when you go next. Also do you have a notarized letter from the father authorizing the young one to leave the country and live abroad permanently?
