Oh there will be plenty of more distractions by both parties.

That's what's nice about ignoring them and focusing on a third party.

Key figures? You mean establishment Republicans. I'm talking about the base. The real Americans in real America. They're dancing to his tune. They eat him up. He outpolls the pack among GOP primary voters. My cable works just fine, thank you very much.

When all that's needed to get elected is slick TV ads and a few slogans to get people pumping their fists - it's not really surprising.

Please he would of never won the primary if he was serious. I dont think the fringe right that we have seen speaks for the whole party.

Which in turn is slightly more useful than a forum poster who says they'd do the same thing as the President, then "spontaneously" changes their mind when confronted with their own hypocrisy.

That is funny!

Obama is proof.

It seems to be a significant portion of the party seeing the support the 'out there' types have gotten over the last few years. Palin, Bachmann, Scott, Trump. I mean, really, this is becoming a pattern that should have a party wanting to govern very concerned.

..a third party which would do exactly the same as the other two.

What you need in the US is a political system where there is more emphasis on real issues and less on media spin and presentation. Ultimately, it requires an electorate who are broadly more educated than they are currently and are actually invested in politics and issues that relate to their own immediate self-interest. Instead you get a lot of people who ignore the whole thing, and would prefer to get drunk and watch trash TV.

Obama is proof.

You didn't notice that until Obama got elected? Damn, you can't have been paying attention most of your life.

Um thanks. Is this the VJ Politics and Religion Forum? Or did I make a left turn somewhere I shouldn't have?

I think its safe to assume you may have taken a few turns you shouldn't have.

One of these days, that might actually yield results. In the meantime lets see what happens next year.

Right now its pretty much a three way tie and if Trump stays in the race he will not survive, to much baggage. I also dont believe Palin could win.

Agree with that as well. I think he only wishes there was another option for voters that were sick and tired of politics as usual. I can give him that much of a benefit.

Can't you destroy your ballot paper anymore?

If only we had a system like in the UK.

We have an election on May 5th to change the voting system.
