White House releases Obama birth certificate

By Rachel Rose Hartman

The White House on Wednesday morning released the president's long form birth certificate (pdf) in an attempt to put "birther" questions to rest.

"The President believed the distraction over his birth certificate wasn't good for the country. It may have been good politics and good T.V., but it was bad for the American people and distracting from the many challenges we face as a country," White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer said in a statement.

The president had released his certificate of live birth in 2008, but many "birthers" said the absence of a long form birth certificate prompted questions about Obama's birthplace of Hawaii. In recent weeks potential GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump has brought birther questions into the forefront of the media.

"At a time of great consequence for this country--when we should be debating how we win the future, reduce our deficit, deal with high gas prices, and bring stability to the Middle East, Washington, DC, was once again distracted by a fake issue," Pfeiffer said. "The President's hope is that with this step, we can move on to debating the bigger issues that matter to the American people and the future of the country."

It's a fake. You know it's a fake. Trump's investigators will prove that it's a fake. I mean, it took them three years to fake this baby up. Three motherfcuking years. The white House thinks this will settle the issue? It settles nothing. Nothing!

Now maybe we can get back to talking about he's failed policies

...or about your poor English skills.

Actually, he's taking credit.

"I'm taking great credit and you have to ask the president, 'why didn't he do this a long time ago? Why didn't he do it a long time ago?' When Hillary Clinton was asking, when everybody was asking, why didn't he do it? It's shocking. It's shocking," Donald Trump said at a press conference this morning on President Obama's birth certificate.

Next he'll take credit for Obama graduating magna cum laude from Harvard. After all, he raised the question why Obama got into Harvard in the first place. All the while, Trump graduated magna cum laude perhaps from the Hairclub for Men. What a jackass.

Trump went to Fordham, I believe. Not a bad school but no Harvard/Yale.

He did. For two years. He then transferred to and graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. I haven't seen his transcripts yet. There's just so much we don't know about The Donald. All we know is that he says he's rich and that he was born in Jamaica.

This White House just gets more cowardly every day.

Agreed, and it's not like this will silence or stop those who believe in this nonsense, in fact, drawing WH attention to it will probably make it worse. Very silly.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .
