I've read this article a few days ago. I've met a few vain guys here in Manila but I wouldn't really generalize that all Filipino men are vain strutting peacocks

first off i'm filipino but grew up in the U.S.

here in PI now.

A lot of guys out here think it's normal to carry make up kits with them. oh and let's not leave out the whole powdering the face deal. that's just vag status and it's embarrassing.

I agree that there are quite a few vain and narcissistic men in the Philippines, but I still think it is quite a hasty generalization because I doubt it extends past Manila and maybe Cebu. Just my two cents.

That being said, I do remember my ex being more brand-conscious than me. Prime example, we saw a polo shirt in SM (brand Dansen) that was identical to a polo shirt in Topman, only the price is about Php500 vs Php2500. Of course, he insisted on the Topman. Drove me mad!! Lol

My husband is now the opposite. It's his birthday in three days and he would always tell me not to buy him anything over $30 lol He is so sweet and I love that he still wears his clothes from 10 years ago, and insists that they don't need to be thrown away because they are still fine.

Thought I was gonna read about some "ex"s in reaction to this I myself haven't "ex"-perienced being with one. I don't think I can take the competition hehe.

Actually my first thought upon reading it is that the next waves of K-1 visas might well be an exodus of our well-groomed, male compatriots getting together with US ladies. That certainly happens a lot in other parts of the world.

If all those guys think they are "sexually attractive", then they probably are, at least half the time. Confidence is sexy

I'd rather be with someone who thought they were sexually attractive than otherwise. But it would be a big turn-off if they felt the need to broadcast that to everyone (and a big sign of insecurity).

that paragraph cracked me up! ok...i must admit though...every now and then i do become vain when looking at myself in the mirror before going out. of course, it helps when i match the right shirt with the right pair of pants...and when the wife fan the flames but i wouldn't go as far as carrying a kaboodle case/bag of make-up kit or what have you. but in all honesty...when the wife and i go out...i dress up and try to look nice and sexy for her and not anyone else. i could care less how i looked for other people...it's her attention that is important to me and what i am after

So I guess they indeed fit the textbook definition of "narcissistic" then But I myself am all for guys who in the vernacular are "mukhang mabango." Scruffy handsome types don't do it for me.

Filipino guy in general is "Mayabang" and "Egoistic". Primary reasons why I couldn't get along with them. Go figure why I marry my man.
