Heheh awesome. I have my flight booked for august 24th(if all goes well at interview), leaving me plenty of time, plus it was the cheapest flight I could find In august at £315

Mine cost me nearly #800 (sorry, writing on a stupid american keyboard on a netbook ). I had to get a return ticket as it was the cheapest.

Had to put it all on my freshly paid off credit card too. Ouch.

OMG that's so cheap! I paid almost £900 for my ticket (flying out July 23rd) and the extra taxes for a "lap child". INSANE!

Yeah its a single. Couldn't find a return for less than 660 so made more sense to get a single I did treat myself thought and spent an extra £49 quid on premium economy, which is more room... FREE spirits/wines etc, slightly better food and personal tv's Also its closer to front of plane, im in row 12 i think, so i can DASH off the plane and get first in line at immigration hopefully lol !!

I always book with STA travel. I was hoping to travel august 15th but singles then were 425, so figured whats an extra 10 days wait to save me some extra money

I must've been looking in the wrong place - or there were no singles available for my chosen date. It would've cost me more to book a single than a return, which is stupid.

Ho hum! So much of this process is a live-and-learn situation, but all being well we'll never have to use these lessons again

Assuming the price doesn't go up, which it probably will once I've got my visa approved , I bought some extra AA air miles, and according to their website, my single from LHR to SLC will cost the grand total of £120 (plus 30,000 air miles)

I am so jealous of these cheap flights you've all found. I tried booking through STA, found a flight for 450, but they wouldn't accept a baby in the "deal" they offered

An extra 10,000 miles with AA cost me $275, I think - that took me to 33,000 miles, and the flight uses 30,000 of them.

Are they all on the same airline? If so, then you should be able to choose to use air miles from the airline's own booking website - for instance, on AA, when I go to book a flight at www.aa.com, it gives me the option of return, one-way or redeem AAdvantage miles.

On most airline airmiles systems you can also transfer miles between people, I think.

Of course, by the time I get visa approval, it will all be for nought as the qualifying miles will've shot back up to 60,000
