I am trying to find out if anyone has been denied a green card but their passport was stamped with an I-551 stamp after the interview.

If USCIS has any intention of enying your petition, I dont see why the would bother stamping your pasport in the first place.

They are giving you a TEMPORARY evidence .. for 1 year.. just one... to carry on your life UNTIL a decision can be made.. basically it's done as courtesy. The stamp is usually given at the local office upon request via info pass or other. The officer/agent that will give the stamp after verifying that there is a pending case cannot see the contents within the case.. so background info and has NOTHING to do within.

Now if you were denied. sorry to hear... find a good lawyer and refile with the necessary evidence.... best of luck. ..!

Ricardo4eva2,

Thanks for your response. Well, I was not denied, atleast not yet and hopefully not but I had the interview yesterday to remove conditions with a divorce waiver and the io took my green card and my passport was stamped with an I-551 for 90 days while waiting on the decision. So, I was just curiuos too see if the stamp was a likelihood of getting approved since my NOA1 is valid till July 2011.

nothing to worry about ... people get greet cards after being divorced all the time.. main thing is/was ... "was the marriage real." The I551 is a stamp of convenience .. nothing more.
