AOS fee invoiced and paid today, we also got a 'welcome' e-mail, and I think the problem with our DS3032 e-mail was that we used my wife's married name, but her passport has (had, actually, at the time we submitted the I-130), her maiden name. The NVC e-mail mentioned something about a name change. Her passport now has her married name, which I don't think (I hope!) should be an issue. We have the old passport as well, though its now cut/marked and invalid.

Yup, wait till an interview date has been assigned, then you can choose the DHL location. You might be able to do it without, but I'd wait if I were you.

I was able to print the barcode coversheet for my AOS package, so I've got it all together and will be mailing it tomorrow during my lunch break. This NVC fast pace is so much better than the hells of USCIS.

NVC is definitely much faster paced than USCIS. You control how fast the process goes at NVC, unlike the other way around with USCIS.

Thank you! You've been such a big help :)

Oh, btw, the DS-260 seems to be much more in depth than the DS-230. It had asked specific dates, mm-dd-yyyy. I took forever filling it out because I remember months, but not days. I was probably off with by a few days with job and school dates, I hope that isn't a problem since the DS-230 only asks for mm-yyyy. I guess for some people the DS-260 was simplified asking for only month/year.

Wow, that's weird. When I filled out the DS-260 in February, it was like yours, with specific dates and asked a lot more than the DS-230, but then I heard from a few people who filled it out in March and April and they told me the exact dates were gone (just month and year), as well as the part about education and details about previous employers. Did they bring the hard version back?! blink.gif

Indeed, if I had foreseen that they'd be so quick, I would have had all my documents with me at work today; alas, I lost a day :bonk:

For my wife, the dizzying speed of this, after that long and painful wait, has her almost frantic now. She's got a lot of life tidying/sorting to do before she can hop on a plane and bid her country "La Revedere!"

Haha, I knew ahead of time NVC was going to be quick, so I had both packages ready ahead of time. And I had started packing months ago laughing.gif So no frantic-ness for me.

I was wishing for just month and year! I had to think hard and look at all my travel itineraries for specific dates, pull up resumes for employer info and start/quit dates, and I had to guess when I started school and when I completed (couldn't remember when my last final was, that was ages ago!)...the page timed out on me twice! lol

Even though they only asked for previous 5 visits to the USA, it's definetly a lot harder than the DS-230.

Maybe there was a glitch in the system a few months ago???

So, I'm reading the instructions on the NVC website about where to send my AOS package, and here (http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3197.html) it says to scan them and e-mail them as pdf's to the NVC address. However, I was under the impression that was for Opt-IN countries only. Which should I do, e-mail it or send it physically? Thanks,

-Jim

I wouldn't call that a glitch. A glitch would be a page doesn't load properly, not information not being requested.

I had screenshots of the DS-260 ahead of time, so I got all information ready a few days before the DS-260 became available.

So, I'm reading the instructions on the NVC website about where to send my AOS package, and here (http://travel.state..../info_3197.html) it says to scan them and e-mail them as pdf's to the NVC address. If you look at the instruction right before it talks about scanning, it says: "Attach the bar code sheet and mail them to the NVC unless you have joined the E-Mail Electronic Processing program, then… "
