Late April/May NVC Filers

Thought I might come hang out here for awhile

Got our NOA2 on April 18....NVC case number April 29th. Received AOS invoice instructions and paid online 5th May.

Here's hoping for a quick NVC trip for everyone!

Hey guys! We got our Case # and IIN this morning. I called in and knew they had it because they did the whole run-down of names and birthdates, then got our e-mail addresses. The first operator told me she was not allowed to give me the IIN until after I had received the packet of information from them in the mail. I said "Thanks, I appreciate your help!" Hung up, called back, told the next operator I needed our IIN and she gave it to me immediately!

Anna is sending her DS3032 Opt-IN E-mail now, and we should be on our way. For giggles I logged into the payment system, even though I knew it wouldn't be invoiced yet, and sure enough it hasn't. Hopefully soon though!

Grats on getting your case number! I always find it weird that some operators REFUSE to give the IIN. When I asked for my IIN and BIN, the operator gave me no problems and said the numbers right away. Either way, glad you were smart enough to call back and ask again and got it

printed off the barcoded sheet for IV bill. sending off AOS and IV together (from Philippines) then hopefully my sister is a champ and doesn't lag and sends it off from Cali to NH STAT! woohoo! :thumbs: :thumbs:

The guy I spoke to was also pretty hesitant when it came to giving me my IIN. I don't really see the harm in logging in to check if you have any invoices even though you most likely don't. Oh well...

Given what I'm seeing on other petioners' timelines, I'm a bit upset that the NVC still says "we have no record of your case number". My I-130 was approved April 26, and now it's been 11 days. I've spoken with an operator at NVC and they say the same thing. Is there a way to confirm with the USCIS that they've sent our case to the NVC?

Definitely talk to the operators. My AVR -still- says no case information available or case # incorrect, even though I've already set up all the e-mails, etc. The AVR is notoriously unreliable.

I've been keeping a spreadsheet going for NVC processing times (found in my signature) and you can see that currently, for most people, it's taken 2 weeks or longer to get their case number assigned after their NOA2 date. Unfortunately, all you can do is wait and keep calling an NVC operator.

I did just now speak with an operator, and this time I was told that they DO have our case, but it won't be entered into the system for probably another two weeks. Good grief.

i got approved 4/29/2011 .....how long untill i get my appoinment...recieved noa2 by mail 5/5/2011..i wonder if nvc received my casae now..should it take more then a month untill my interview..???

If you have all documents ready to go as soon as bills appear as PAID and you don't have any RFEs, the time in NVC is drastically lower than the average, about half of that.

Oh yeah, I'm WAY ready to go. I figure if I've got time to complain publicly about how long USCIS/NVC are, I also have time to get all my documents ready.

What makes me laugh is when I see posts from people who get approved by USCIS, then post "Now what's the next step?" I have the NVC steps memorized. Being OCD does have its advantages.

I thought I had all my ducks in a row too, then in ran into multiple issues.

First, we filed taxes in London in order to get an ITIN for her, and since we handed the stuff over in person I forgot to make a copy, so had to have her send a signed copy of 10-40.

Second, I left behind documents for her for 'evidence' at the interview, but also left in the pile some of the AOS documents. She's sending those back now, along with DS3032.

Third, now that I got our case #, despite having read these forums and guides 209340823 times (exactly), I still had a giant sense of: "Okay, what now?!" Go figure.

If you haven't called NVC today, do so! We have the same receipt dates, and my case # ended in 005, so you could be #4 or #6 even! I'm sure they've scanned more in by now.
