We sent AOS packet two weekes ago and we got a response, on that, they request the the DS-230 packet to be sent, we sent it on tuesday, however it has instructions, for example that we have to write in all the pages the NVC number,we did not do it, it also has a barcode (I dont know if it the same that we sent) check letter response, that we have to sent according to that. Do you know if there will be problem with the IV packet?, because we did not write the NVC number in all the pages and also we did not sent the barcode that this email has :S

This makes me feel nervous

I forgot to write the NVC number on all the pages and everything went just fine...approved, waiting for the interview on July 26.

On another note for anyone interested...this supervisor also said that the whole 'the NVC only schedules interviews during the second week of the month' script isn't true...they schedule right throughout the month. Figured as much since Saylin and others had their interviews scheduled at other times, but it was interesting to hear it from them.

Wow, that's amazing that you got someone to admit that they schedule all month long!

Writing the case number on all pages isn't MANDATORY, it's just a suggestion. Why? In case one paper gets lost, at least it'll be much easier to hook it back up to the case if the number is written on it.

As for the bar-code, you either needed to print it out from the payment portal or print it out from the email about the IV package. If you didn't include it, I'm not sure if NVC will review it or not. Or they might take longer with your case since they have to go out of their way to find out if you paid your IV bill and it was accepted. I'd suggest calling NVC and asking what you should do, if anything.

We did sent the bar-code but the one from the payment portal, I hope that is the same bar-code that they sent today on the email in order to avoid delays on the process, definetly I will call :s

Thanks for your response

Oh, if you sent the one from the payment portal, then you're PERFECT! That's where most people get their bar codes cause practically everyone knows not to wait for correspondence from NVC to mail things out.

So, no need to call!

So you mean the checklist they sent you is only because you didn't write the case number on every page of the package?wacko.gif

Off-topic: you changed your user name!! laughing.gif

And I think they got an email about the IV package. I got it after sending my IV package in (NVC is so slow). It just talked about the IV package, and where to find info on what I need to send in, and the last page was a barcode (which I already had from the payment portal). I think that's what they mean by "checklist letter". Not sure though.

I'm a little confused about what to tell my wife to bring to her interview next month. According to the letter she received, and from how I'm interpreting these codes, it almost looks like all she needs to show up with is the interview letter. It even seems to state she doesn't need to bring her passport, but I'm sure that can't be right.

Here is a description of the codes...

* Document Status Description

A = Applicant must acquire this document and present it at the time of the interview.

C = Direct inquiries to your consulate / embassy

D = Certified document received

F = This form is not necessary for this application.

I = The required form is incomplete. Please ensure that a complete form is presented at

the interview.

O = The original document has been received and accepted as meeting post

requirements.

P = The police certificate must be requested by the applicant. If you have already

applied for this document, no further action is required. The issuing police authority

will send the police record directly to the appropriate US Embassy to have on hand

at the time of the interview.

R = The electronic DS-260 form has been submitted and reviewed.

S = Scanned document received. The original document must be presented at the time

of the interview.

T = An acceptable document has been received, but a translation is required as the

submitted document is not in English or the official language of the processing post.

The applicant must present a certified translation at the time of the interview.

U = The applicant has informed the NVC that the required document is unavailable.

X = The required document is unobtainable for this country per the Foreign Affairs

Manual.

Y = The required document has been received.

$ = Payment received.

And here are the codes for the documents they listed for her specifically:

The following table lists the documents requested by the NVC and whether or not the

NVC received them. Please note that even though the applicant may have provided

the NVC with a copy of a document, the applicant is still required to bring the

original document to the visa interview.

Check the paragraph right before the check list, here's mine :

Visa Interview Requirements

LIDIA ******* must bring the following to the visa

interview:

* Any original documents that were requested by the NVC but were not submitted

to the NVC

* The medical examination results if not submitted to the Embassy/Consulate by

the physician

* The correct size and number of photographs

* Valid passport for all traveling applicant

On my list passport has got a "Y" too

Off topic: haha.

Nope, they don't require the numbers. In the IV package they email out, it's listed as just a suggestion.

It even seems to state she doesn't need to bring her passport, but I'm sure that can't be right.

Here is a description of the codes...

Basically, it's saying they've received everything necessary. Everything listed was either in the AOS or IV package. About the passport, they're referring to the photocopy of the bio-data page you submitted in the IV package. Of course your wife has to bring her passport. She needs it to be let in as well as giving it over so they can put the visa inside.

What I would suggest to bring: copies of everything you've sent in (I-130, I-864, DS-230). As well as as much evidence of your bona fide marriage as possible.

What's required: interview letter, passport, medical results, passport pictures (not sure how many for your consulate/embassy, mine was 2). Just look on NVC to see what you need for your consulate/embassy.

Yes, that's the IV info package they send out to mostly everyone. It always includes the barcode. But you can always get this at the payment portal, like you did.
