You get the originals/certified copies back right after the interview.

For the sealed envelope, no you don't get it back. The officer just reviews the forms. The officer I had made me review the address on the DS-230 to make sure my green card would be mailed to the correct address. After your POE is done, the officer will mail the envelope with all the forms to USCIS who then keeps it for their records.

That makes more sense than what I've read elsewhere. I think I read that the originals and certified copies are also returned in another sealed envelope? Maybe that is what confused me.

Nope, they're returned at the interview. If for whatever reason the officer forgets and you forget, then I believe they would in that case include the originals/certified copies in the envelope.

Well, I'm not sure about non-EP cases. At my interview, since I did EP, I had to give them my originals/certified copies. Then, later when I was getting interviewed, the lady handed them back to me. I'm guessing it wouldn't be in an envelope, just loose. They'll probably take it from your case file which would be in an envelope that came from NVC.

Hello friends,i have a question,my husband had a prior marriage,and I know we send copies of the divorce decree to USCIS and NVC,but i'm not sure if i have to take with me at the interview the original divorce decree,or only if I was married before i would have to take it at the interview.Thank you

Hi Cristina, you have to bring what's on the checklist of the interview notification, the list with "Y, A, F, O, etc..." Read it carefully, documents like divorce decree, birth certificate PC, have to be originals.

Don't listen to NVC when they say stuff like that. I highly doubt they checked to see if Montreal was 100% full for July. I haven't seen any last week of July interviews yet, so there's still a chance you'll get a July interview. If not, it'll be early August for sure.

I think the last CR-1 interview date I've seen on VJ is July 18th - not too sure, but yeah. I have a bit of hope for a late July interview date or at least an early August date

Yeah, July 18 is the last date I remember seeing too. Which means there'd still be plenty of room for you But if not late July, then most definitely early August.
