Late April/May NVC Filers

I was able to print the barcode coversheet for my AOS package, so I've got it all together and will be mailing it tomorrow during my lunch break. This NVC fast pace is so much better than the hells of USCIS.

I printed my barcode coversheet today as well, and have everything put together and ready to send off tomorrow. However, when updating my timeline I see one of the items says "Receive I-864 Package" and it got me a little nervous because it made me think that I'm supposed to wait for them to send me a copy of the I-864 or send me an email letting me know that they are ready for it but your statement has reassured me that the only "go ahead" I need is the barcode cover sheet.

Oh, my husband just forwarded the email with the link for the I-864 so that essentially is the "Receive I-864 Package" step on the vj timeline.

NVC is bombarding us with emails left and right! I don't finish reading one when suddenly another one pops up.

I called yesterday and today to find out if my husband's been given a schedule for his interview. Still nothing. I wonder if they started giving out schedules yet. The operator told me the last day is the 15th, but I don't think they've started scheduling people yet...

For my wife, the dizzying speed of this, after that long and painful wait, has her almost frantic now. She's got a lot of life tidying/sorting to do before she can hop on a plane and bid her country "La Revedere!"

I wouldn't call that a glitch. A glitch would be a page doesn't load properly, not information not being requested.

I had screenshots of the DS-260 ahead of time, so I got all information ready a few days before the DS-260 became available.

If you look at the instruction right before it talks about scanning, it says: "Attach the bar code sheet and mail them to the NVC unless you have joined the E-Mail Electronic Processing program, then… "

Who knows what it was, but I would like to know why some weren't asked for specific dates.

I wish I was more prepared for the DS-260 like you were, I'm just glad we are almost done with NVC!

What does the NVC finally do with the AOS package we send after they are done with it? Does it remain in their files? Do they send to the embassy and then it stays there? Or is it given to the beneficiary? Or sent back to the petitioner?

They schedule interviews all month long. Please do not listen to their scripts. If you want proof, look at my own signature. I was scheduled an interview date in the FOURTH week of the month, as have lots of other people.

They must have gotten complaints about the DS-260 and changed it to make it super easy. But then changed it back for some reason

Once NVC closes your case, they send your whole case, including the AOS and IV packages to the embassy/consulate. Then after you get approved, the beneficiary gets sent a sealed envelope along with their passport and visa. This sealed envelope gets handed over at POE and it contains every form you've ever submitted (I-130, I-864, DS-230, etc). This envelope then gets sent back to USCIS where they keep it in their records.

Umm, I have no idea, it's just general knowledge. You see at the interview that they have your AOS and DS-230, and at POE, when they open the envelope, you see all the previous forms. I don't think it says anywhere on USCIS or NVC that these forms get sent to the embassy/consulate, then sent back in the envelope.
