hi to all Pinays or any members who has a knowledge about CFO seminar in the Philippines. Is it advisable to have that seminar before ur medical exam and interview? or medical and interview first? which is better? after or before? because they also need our passport during that seminar, right? any experience to share VJ members? Thank you and God Bless.

You can't have the seminar first because you have to have your visa before you can register for the seminar. Below is the requirement to register for CFO:

Requirements for Registration

1.Original and photocopy of passport (must be valid about six months before date of travel)

2.Original and photocopy of visa

3.One (1) 2x2 or passport-size photograph

4.One (1) valid identification card with photograph (eg., SSS ID, GSIS E-card, PRC ID, driver's license, postal ID, ARC, etc.)

5.Photocopy of Immigrant Data Summary for USA-bound emigrant (must not be detached from visa packet)

would like to share my own experience........

i attended the seminar at the good shepherd convent......

heard from vj members that it is less of a "burden".... and i agree....

i just presented / submitted requirements MINUS my visa....

i decided to take the seminar earlier in case i will be pressed for time when the time comes......

i paid the corresponding fees for the seminar and CFO stamping same day......

when i got my visa, i had my passport stamped at the CFO manila (it was more accessible to me that time).....

.... which took few minutes only....

fyi, CFO has a satellite office inside good shepherd convent....

one can have a CFO stamped right after the seminar if already with visa.......

it doesnt matter if before or after the medical......

my residence then was 7 hours drive away from manila.......

so i took every chance i got whenever i was in the metropolis......

hope i gave some points.....

goodluck....

Hi,

Actually, You don't be necessarily to have a a visa to attend the CFO Seminar. You can attend anytime you want. On or after the Medical Exam. But I would suggest, you better attend the seminar after your visa has been issued to save time and money for fare. Because, there is a CFO sticker that needs to stamp on your visa itself . You can attend the seminar without the visa, but they will only give you the CFO Certificate which means you need to go back at the CFO office for the sticker after you will get your visa. So, better get it at once. Besides, it is only a 1 day seminar. I guess you are from Mindanao? I took the seminar in Cebu without any problem. Check this link for a complete requirements for the seminar.

Yes you can but you still have to go back after you receive your visa which cause more expenses for others due to transport and lodging for people coming from the provinces. It's a matter of choice based on practicality.
