Hello,

Me and my wife just got married under the K1 Visa, so now we are applying for the AOS and the EAD.

I have several questions. First, when will I receive a SSN. It's my first time in the US under a Visa so I don't have one for now.

Then, concerning the I-694, I had my medical visit about a month and a half ago, just want to make sure I won't need an other medical examination if I just fill the vaccination record.

I also wanted to know if I need an official translation of my birth certificate and if this one needs to be issued within 3 months.

Thank you.

Jeremy

You just need a vaccination record. If you dont have one; go to the nearest USCIS approved medical diagnostic center and let them know that you want the immigration vaccination to be done. Fill the form and they will give you a closed envelop containing your vaccination record. Dont open that and just mail it along with you I-485. No need of I-694 or any medical exam for you.

I think you may need an official translation of your Birth Certificate.

According to few of the postings on VisaJourney, an SSN can be applied soon after we get our EAD.

Cheers.

Hello Fellow VJers! I hold K1 visa and now working on AOS. Pls help.

In Form I-485 it asks for "Date of LAST Arrival" and Form I-765 asks for "Date of LAST ENTRY to US". Should i write here my POE (Jan. 12, 2012) or my last US trip prior to K1 which was 5 years ago?

I am confused. Sorry to bother you but i need help. Thanks a lot in advance!

It should be the same day really. The last time you were processed at a point of entry when you flew in. Has to be the latest.

I have a couple of questions as I am applying for my spouse for GC

should I only include my passport only as a proof of citizenship or should I include other things ?

should I file seprately form I 130 OR WITH the adjustment package ?

is the photograph needed the same one used in the DV lottery ?

Should I include when Filing lease copy , other things that proof that we are living together ?

what visa did she came with?

you also need to include a copy of your birth certificate, to proof your citizenship.

the photograph requirements are in the instructions, which you should have printed too. it's petty clear!!!

and the last question again, it depens on which kind of visa your spouse came with. then you can look more into what documents you will need.

I mailed my AOS Feb 28th and did not receive my 3 NOA's till March 12th However the NOA date was March 3rd... After receiving my 3 NOA's it was about a week later that I did receive my Bio appt... I dont think USCIS can really give you an idea of when you will receive it as it really depends on your local office, how busy they are and when it the first available appointment they have... Try and be patient... I know is hard but surely it will come soon

Thanks so much for the quick reply. I just got a text message from USICS few mins ago telling me that my AOS application has been sent to local office for processing. I also called the UPS and was told that i do have a mail waiting for pickup. I'm hoping it is my Biometrics appointment. Will go and get the mail tonight. I'm crossing my fingers.

By the way, do you have any idea where they're sending my docs for processing? I am based in Orlando, FL. Thanks a lot again! yes.gif

Hmmm... Not really sure to tell you the truth... Just looking at the USCIS District offices here on VJ under Processing times it says they have local offices in Florida in Hialeah, Jacksonville, Kendall, Miami, Oakland Park, Orlando, Tampa & West Palm Beach... So I would think they will send it to the one that is the closest for you to get to... Is simple for me... My state is smaller so really not too many to choose from... Just be patient and you will soon know... We are having to travel 2 hours to Charleston, SC for Biometrics but as I said there are only 2 here in our state so is pretty simple for me... Hope this helps and you soon get your appointment ;)

thanks a lot in advance!

We sent the packet on 3.6.12. The biometrics appt came on 3.14.12, but no receipts. The receipts arrived the next day, but one was missing. It turned up the following day. I walked in and did the biometrics on 3.19.12.

They won't say anything about the biometrics appt until it's been 30days after the package has been sent. We follow my case status on the USCIS website. It will tell you if the biometrics appt has been sent at least.

Best advice? try not to get anxious, the days still carry 24hrs, but they seem so much longer when you are waiting for something. I barely have fingers because I've been chewing my nails. We had a lot of stop and starts gathering all the bits for the package in the first place I thought we'd never send in the package. Now, I'm waiting again... he's all cool calm and collected and trying to lighten my anxiety, but I feel like our lives are on hold and want it all over and done, so I know how you feel and it really doesn't help!
