Not to bring up happy topics but I wanted to share a little bit about the Moroccan Royal Family that I found out and I am curious if anyone else on the boards has any ties to Rabat

First, I definitely will be waking up at 4 am to watch the royal wedding. The moroccan royal family will be attending.

I just found out that my daughters grandfather used to work in the palace as an advisor to Hassan and that her dad used to play soccer with the now king when he was a child. Not royalty but royal employees and they have an apartment on Rue Michlifen in Rabat in Agdal. I would be curious if any of the other people on mena have some kind of employment connection in Rabat to the king as apparently the monarchy is a pretty big employer in Rabat.

My daughters family names are BELHADI and MAKOUAR . I am wondering if maybe she has a cousin of one of you from RABAT because those are pretty big families. It would be neat if any of the people on here were related

Again, she isnt related to the royal family but they got their apt in Michlifen from there and the grandfather was an advisor during the black years in Morocco under Hassan.

BBC America has a countdown to the wedding with non stop royalty shows.. Mark the date... 4 am Friday April 29th. I remember waking my daughter up to watch the funeral of Diana....
