Anti-US feeling across Pakistan has escalated in recent months

US authorities described Pakistan's ISI intelligence agency as a "terrorist" organisation, according to a leaked US document.

The document was published in some US and European newspapers as part of a series of leaked documents distributed by the website, Wikileaks.

It said the US saw the ISI as a threat on par with al-Qaeda and the Taliban.

Last week, the US military's top officer, Adm Mike Mullen, accused the ISI of having links with the Taliban.

He said the ISI had a "long-standing relationship" with a militant group run by Afghan insurgent Jalaluddin Haqqani, which targets US troops in Afghanistan.

Pakistan rejected the accusation with Pakistan's army chief, Gen Ashfaq Kayani, saying it was "negative propaganda" by the US.

Translation: Caught red-handed (especially after two of his "sleepers" failed in attempted terror-acts in US last year--remember 2010/03/30 attempt to blow-up Times Square by Faisal Shahzad and 2010/10/26 attempt against DC-Metro by Muhammed Faruq--shills about "innocence".

The latest leak comes as US-Pakistan ties have been under severe strain.

There has been growing anger in Pakistan about US drone strikes in the north-west of the country.

And controversy over a CIA contractor who shot dead two Pakistani nationals earlier this year also soured ties between Washington and its ally Islamabad.

The reference to Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI, comes in a briefing document designed to guide people who are involved in interrogating and classifying detainees in Guantanamo Bay.

It sets out a range of criteria for assessing how much of a threat someone poses and also how likely they are to have valuable intelligence.

At the end, it lists almost 70 organisations which are, it says, "terrorist and terrorist support entities identified as associate forces".

The list includes the Taliban, the al-Qaeda network and Pakistan's ISI.

It is unclear when the document dates from. Some analysts say its classification code suggests it was produced in 2007.

Reality was that ISI has been a terror-org since NLT 1977 (more than one of its top officials had been involved in planning 1971's "Operation Searchlight", and some of these arch-criminals aren't dead yet), and never had morals exceeding those of MS-13, facts known to US intel even as of 1979 when Pakistan was designated as "conduit" for helping Afghans toss-out Soviets. Which is true and most are aware that pak military and ISI are heavily involved with talibans, lot of the time they have similar thoughts how government should work.

Lot of pak military officers believes it should be government should work based on Islamic laws, which is the same ideology of talibans.

Nope, their "vision" was never different from their "parent" ISI and Pak uniformed thugs (aka military), which has been blinded due to its refusal to learn from 1971 and avoid repeating that stupidity.

Basically as "policy instruments"--specifically of the one-point policy (hating India) of Pak thugocrat military--under aegis of 1971-war-criminal dictator Zia ul-Haq and his toady Akhtar Rehman (both sent to hell together 1988/08/17 by a third war-criminal, Aslam Beg).
