I would bring a few dollars in change with you. There are vending machines with water, juice, pop and snacks in there and if you have a long wait you might want something to drink and eat. I know I was starving and we only had bills and the woman wouldn't exchange it for change. The vending machines do not accept bills.

The interview is very easy. They ask about five questions and they aren't even hard ones. We were ask how we met, why it took so long for us to start the K1 process, when Chris asked me to marry him and a couple other really easy questions. They never asked to see pictures, phone bills, messenger conversations or our recite for my engagement ring etc.

Good luck on your interview and try not to stress.

Life is like a roller coaster. Hold on tight and enjoy the ride!

The bag will be fine. You can wear jewelry....I wore earring, necklace and 3 rings and did not have to remove any of them It is just like airport clearance....You would have to remove a belt, and jacket. I went through this morning. I took my jacket off, and put it in the tray. My paperwork in another. Then walked through the metal detector. Put my jacket back on and went down the stairs. It's very easy. The only bags they are worried about is big backpacks. Other women had purses with them, I didn't bother with a purse. One woman told me all she had in her purse was her wallet and they just looked in it and she was on her way. I think it is best just to leave the purses at the motel or wherever you stay. Good Luck!

Well the only jewelery I wear is 2 rings and 2 bracelets (one of which is my watch). And I don't wear belts, so I don't need to worry about that. As much as I'd love to bring my purse (I never go anywhere without it), I won't bother with it as I don't want to be stopped or held up because of it. I'll put a credit card and some ID in my folder just in case, but that's it. And I'm leaving my cellphone with my father who's driving me to the Consulate (I live near Montreal) and then waiting for me at the nearby Tim Hortons.

Good idea to leave the cellphone in the car. Although they will hold it at the security for you. There is a Tim Hortons on the next block from the consulate. If you stand on the corner you can see it at the next :-) Wishing you the best!

My father loves Tim Hortons so that's where he'll be with my cellphone for a few hours while I'm at the Consulate. And yeah, I saw it on Google Maps and it's just a block over, which is very convenient.

Thanks, can't believe my interview will finally be next Tuesday. It's felt like forever waiting.

I had my interview today in Montreal and I brought a reusable shopping bag with a huge file folder in it and I didnt have any problems.

I left my purse at the hotel and just threw my keys and wallet in the bag.

I did see a guy get turned away when I was going in who had one of those over the shoulder messenger bags though.

And honestly don't be nervous!

I was and it was over before I even knew what was happening.

Everyone is right, as long as you have whats required its a breeze.

The guy who interviewed me was really nice too. He asked me if I was nervous, then cracked a few jokes and reassured me.

He asked how we met.

What we both do for a living.

If I've had any problems at the border or if I have a record.

Then he joked with me about being from VJ, he said he could tell.

He then gave me his opinion of the site lol and told me I should post it on here!

So honestly, don't freak out!

Even though everyone is saying it's a breeze, I'm still freaking out nonetheless. laughing.gif But I know that once it's over, I'm probably going to be saying the same thing as everyone else, that it was easy. I hope I get the same officer that you had for the interview as he sounds really nice :)

That guy sounds so nice. My fiance keeps telling me to remember that the consular officers are humans too. They aren't trying to keep us out of the states or anything. Just making sure we are who we say we are. Im feeling pretty calm about the whole situations but just want to get it over with!!!

That's a great way to put it. They definitely just want to make sure we are who we say we are and that nothing is wrong with us. And that they truly do just want us to go to the US and be happy :) I'm feeling a bit more relaxed now, thinking about it like that.

Pretty much, remember they are humans and they are only doing there job/following the rules. Some can have bad days but I had a great guy as well as a few others had a awesome girl. All in all I think that the Montreal interviewers are pretty awesome.

Yeah, reading all the reviews, it's rare to see someone have a problem with Montreal. That's probably why I'm not as nervous as I would be if I were in a higher-fraud country where AP happens often. It just seems like the interview is a formality that needs to be done and that's it. For Montreal, anyways.
