do they look at after taxes ? or before tax cuts?

Before tax... use the following formula. I am assuming you are working full time 40 hours a week with paid time off if you are taking days off of work.

how much you earn 1 hour X 2080= the number you use to determine if you are earning enough.

ex.

$20 per hour X2080 hours = $41,600 per year

not understanding that! poverty for on duty soldiers and 125% of poverty line for all other sponsors,,what am i looking at here?

You are looking at the 2011 poverty guidelines.

100% of the poverty level is listed for active duty military, 125% is listed for all other sponsors - exactly as stated - defined by the size of your household.

If its only you and your fiancee - in the continental US - your household size will be 2.

Look at the chart and you'll see you need income of at least $18,387/year - proved with paystubs, tax returns, letter of employment, etc.

If you have dependents (kids, past sponsored immigrants, etc) - your household size will be bigger.

I get social security disabilty and i'm a independent sales rep which means I work from home is that enough or do I need more?

Compare your household size to the chart. Is your income enough or not? You provided no actual data.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

You need to meet the standards for 125% the poverty level which is a little over 18000 for 2 people.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Agreed :) but you won't receive an RFE for anything related to your income. That's all dealt with at the embassy - not USCIS.
