You senior members have been so helpful as this journey continues, spasiba bolshoye!

If I may ask, Alla, specifically, what tests are performed during the medical exam?

Igor, for Lena

Pazhalsta!

Urine test, blood test, chest x-ray. They specifically check if she is pregnant (they are required to notify you if she is but it does not cause a visa denial unless you withdraw the petition because of it for obvious reasons) they check for the presence of illegal drugs and veneral disease or other contagious disease. The chest x-ray is to look for signs of tuberculosis. It really is not a big deal. The exam is mostly waiting to go from one room to another. The results are available later the same day

Yea, we have the KEV number. It was given to me when I called NVC last week. I'll download the forms in English and I will fill-out the forms while on Skype with her then email them to her so she can print them. Everything else is in order based on the requirements of the KEV-1. Because of the long holiday (till 9, May), this will hold-up our call to the Embassy in Kiev for an appointment date and time.

Perhaps yes. Technically the only holidays are May 1 and May 9. Of course it is tradition for most things to be closed from about April 30 to May 10, mostly because there are not enough sober people to operate anything. But the consulate may be open except for those days. They may also not be doing interviews. Who knows for sure? Call and ask.

The call center is in Warsaw Poland, for what it is worth.

they havent sent ours yet I called yesterday

They may have "sent it". It takes up to three weeks to enter the case in the system after it arrives in Kiev. Call next Monday morning (Kiev time)
