She's has questions about her medical next Tuesday

Lena is asking what to expect in regards to the Kyiv medical exam. Will she be examined from head-to-toe? Besides a blood test, urinalysis and chest xray, will she be required to disrobe completely? Perhaps someone who has experienced the procedure first-hand will comment so I can reassure Lena. Thanks.

Follow-up: when Lena called the Clinic for Oil-Rifining Industry of Ukraine for her appointment for next Tuesday, she was instructed to produce her KEV number, 3 5X5 photos and her passport. Question: She does not have her interview appointment package yet. Can she have the medical examination without it? It's a five hour car ride from Kharkov to Kiev. Thanks.

She may never get the package from the Embassy; download the forms from the Embassy website and bring the email from the Embassy as a substitute fir the invitation letter. Remember that the Ds156k firm is in Russian and can only be had from the Embassy wrbsite.

Also ensure she asks for a copy of the 3025 vaccination summary form; you'll need that for AOS.

Phil, I looked at the forms on the Embassy website. When I opened the DS-156K it was in English. For Lena, it would be perfect if she could access it easily in the Russian Language. I think I am reading you right and understand that the Embassy will email Lena (beneficiary) and it would be acceptable to bring a copy with her once she confirms her interview date by telephone? But hopefully, she will receive packet 4 by Ukrainia snail mail before too long - then above is moot. Thanks, I just wanna get it right.

The information comes in Russian, Ukrainian, or English. If you look at the web site here Ukraine Embassy you can see at the top left the word Ukrainskaya (I think). That will change the site into Ukrainian language. If that doesn't work, I know the infomation itself also comes in Russian. Try here Ukrainian language visa info.

I looked some more, and I can't find the information or forms in Russian, although I sent the entire Russian language packet to Vika. It looks like Ukrainian is it now.

She needs only her KEV number. You can also schedule the medical for the day before the interview (maybe you did?)

They will ask her medical history and (probably) not a full physical exam. Alla says "they want to see your $125, they do not care to see your keeshka"

Bring her vaccination records, and ask them to fill out the DS-3025. Make SURE they check the "vaccinations complete" box (if the vaccinations are complete) She will keep this and you will send it with the AOS paperwork after she arrives.

Fill them out for her and email them. She can print them and sign them. Alla never filled out a form of any sort at any time for any reason. I did them all and said "sign here" All the forms you need are available online, you do not have to wait for anything to be mailed. We still have the flat in Donetsk and the forms never were mailed to us. We are still waiting for them 3 years later. (NOT!!!!!!!)

She prefers to get the medical done instead of waiting until a day or two before the interview date. Interesting about the forms. I will take your advice and download the forms here, complete them and email them and ask her to sign them. Was it the DS-156K or DS-156 that she signs at the interview? I know you have posted the clarification on a past thread.

The DS 156K MUST be signed at the consulate. You can also sign the DS 156 at the consulate. I think we signed both there.

It is OK to go early for the medical, Alla did because she happened to be in Kiev on business anyway. Just to let you know that you CAN do it the day before.

you will need the KEV number for the exam. FYI the call center is only updated on Monday so calling every day and buying a new pin number is useless. once they have you in the system you will be assigned the number and use that number for the interview, the forms are only in English and Ukrainian on the embassy web site. you can fill out the forms online then print them. if she has her vaccination records make sure they check it off on the form if not have her get them done since its cheaper to get them there. once NVC send your packet I think it only takes a week or so for it to be given anumber but not sure on that one. will let you know next week when I call them.

Yea, we have the KEV number. It was given to me when I called NVC last week. I'll download the forms in English and I will fill-out the forms while on Skype with her then email them to her so she can print them. Everything else is in order based on the requirements of the KEV-1. Because of the long holiday (till 9, May), this will hold-up our call to the Embassy in Kiev for an appointment date and time.
