Well here's my situation. I had to kids in the Philippines, one who was born on May 23, 2005 and another on May 6,2006. On April 20, 2010 my kids were approved for their CRBA and U.S. Passports. This year, I had my wife petitioned and she just passed her visa interview this month. I'm expecting them to come join me here in the U.S. next month. Unfortunately, I did not get my kids a Philippines Passport and I'm not sure how much I will need to pay for my kids exit permit.

I've heard and read different stories on hear that they will have to pay a penalty, I'm guessing for the amount of months that they have over stayed in the Philippines. My question is, will they have to pay per month from the day they were born, or will they just pay for the months after acquiring U.S. citizenship. If someone here could give me more information regarding exit permits and their fees I would greatly appreciate it. As I am confused on the exact amount we will have to pay for my kids to leave the Philippines. Thanks in advance.

Correct me if I am wrong ,,but i don't think they will be penalized since they are also considered a Philippine Citizen by birth(if born in the Philippines). Their CRBA and US passports are your kids rights to claim for their US citizenship.. The only way they will pay for a penalty if they are US citizens and are living in the Philippines for more than a certain time allowed..BUT if they were born in the Phils..their Philippine Birth Certificate is one proof that they are legally able to live being a citizen of the country. My son stayed for 5 months after he was born in the Phils,(also approved CRBA) and we did not pay except for the exit permit which is $50.

Thanks happyblessedme for your response. That's the answer I was hoping for, as I do not want to pay hundreds of dollars for them just to exit the country. I'm not sure why they can't just show their Birth Certificate to prove their Philippine Citizenship. Is the $50 you paid a fixed fee, or did they compute the 5 months that your son stayed? Thanks again for your response.
