Hubby and I gave our notice at the place we are renting for the end of September... We did this back in August... I wanted to move before I got too big and before we have the baby... I just wanted to be all settled in before we bring the baby home..

Anywho, I have called a tonne of places and left messages but not a lot of people called back... We have looked at a couple and were going to apply for one but it was already taken :P...

Anyways, on Monday we went to look at this house ( we had been searching for an apartment because we thought it would be cheaper rent)... The rent for this house is $1100 month, which is around the same as some of the apartments we have looked at... We figured the house would be a dump and in a bad neighborhood but we were surprised to find out that the house is actually quite nice... it isn't the greatest house but the kitchen looks like it has been recently remodled.. and it has fairly new carpets etc... It is a two bedroom house and the neighborhood is actually quite nice... the house is also only about 2 minutes away from hubby's parents...

So we decided to apply for the house.... The lady told us to mail the application to her and said she would wait a few days before making her decision, to give people a little time to send in thier applications...

Hubby and I are hoping we get the house... I tried to endear myself to the lady by telling her that we are expecting a baby etc....

we are keeping our fingers crossed :)

yeah, especially for the LA area... ... like I said we thought it would be a dumpy place in crummy neighborhood but we were pleasently surprised.... I am thinking that the reason the rent is so cheap is because the house might be paid off or something...

The only things I don't like about the house is that there is no washer and dryer hook-ups, so it looks like I will be continuiing to do my laundry at the laundramat :P ... that should be fun once the baby comes along.... and the other thing is that there isn't an awful lot of closet space in the house... but other then that the house is great

thanks for the mojo, peeps

how old a house? if say pre 1977 might be an idea to get lead paint tests done since you'll have kids living there.
