Why is that American christians (known the world over) spend all this time bible thumping and banging on about doing as Christ advocated, but their politics are the opposite ?

The weak, the sick, the needy, those in debt, the drug abuser and the alkies, the pregnant teenagers and the poverty stricken poor and the hungry - Republicans think of themselves as the opposite of these BUT taylor all their politics to helping the Donald Trumps and the Billionaires while taking as much away from the underclass as they possibly can

Do these republican christians ever wonder how their politics would go down with the Jesus ?

While they sneer at 'Community Organizers' don't they realise that this is what Jesus was ?

While they try and disqualify 'foreigners', don't they realise that Jesus was born and lived and died in the Middle East ?

What could be more socialistic than EVERYTHING that Jesus ever said or did ?

What could be more 'distributive' than the 5 fishes and the loaves of bread given to people who had not earned them ?

What is the matter with American Christians that they can't see that their politics are the total 180 degree opposite of everything that Jesus stood for ?

and...can't they see that Christianity perpetuates firstly through fear, but more importantly, that the caring sharing ethos of Christianity is what makes it so attractive - and their political creed is in opposition of that ?

I am an atheist but I like what jesus stood for in earthly terms. He was a socialist for sure.

It's ironic that the political creed I find so repugnant is the one that Jesus' American followers think is their best political fit

Perhaps they have never thought about it - especially when they want to hand out medicare vouchers and turn the clock back on pensions for the old

Now that we've digested your rant on Christians...what nuggets of wisdom do you have to share with us concerning Muslims?

It's because the US got all the Puritan freaks from Europe....Holland, England, France, and Germany. Those tards were burning peeps as witches. That right there should tell ya how fk'd up this country started out. And it hasn't gotten much better.

These peeps have no sense of reality. There believe in a book that was written by who knows how many peeps, and rewritten over and over and over again. By the time the Catholic and Orthodox Church got done with it, it was really fk'd up. Then to make things worse you have the right wing commando's who took it over with the Puritan thing in the 16th century and took everything verbatim. Those are the kooks who got run out of Europe and sent here.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

But compared to the commie and socialist Bolsheviks, the Russian Orthodox church of the Tsar was a ##### cat.

You do realize that not all American Christians have the same political beliefs?

The weak, the sick, the needy, those in debt, the drug abuser and the alkies, the pregnant teenagers and the poverty stricken poor and the hungry - Republicans think of themselves as the opposite of these BUT taylor all their politics to helping the Donald Trumps and the Billionaires while taking as much away from the underclass as they possibly can

You should do some research on the the amount given to charity by Republican Christians.

Do these republican christians ever wonder how their politics would go down with the Jesus ?

Good question. However, people should actually look at how every aspect of their behavior would go down with Jesus; not just their politics.

While they sneer at 'Community Organizers' don't they realise that this is what Jesus was ?

While they try and disqualify 'foreigners', don't they realise that Jesus was born and lived and died in the Middle East ?

I have no idea what the point is here.

What could be more socialistic than EVERYTHING that Jesus ever said or did ?

Nothing Jesus ever said or did was about socialism.

What could be more 'distributive' than the 5 fishes and the loaves of bread given to people who had not earned them ?

Personal charity is a good thing and is not the same as socialism or redistribution.

What is the matter with American Christians that they can't see that their politics are the total 180 degree opposite of everything that Jesus stood for ?

Again, not all American Christians have the same political views. I would suggest you research Tony Campolo.

and...can't they see that Christianity perpetuates firstly through fear, but more importantly, that the caring sharing ethos of Christianity is what makes it so attractive - and their political creed is in opposition of that ?

Almost made a good point here.

I am an atheist but I like what jesus stood for in earthly terms. He was a socialist for sure.

I don't know what the general politics of Muslims is although I am gaining a hint looking at Syria/Egypt/Lybia/Yemen etc where right wing dictatorships do not seem too popular with Muslims.

Certainly in the UK, muslims vote almost 100% with socialists (Tony Blair / Gordon Brown)but that is more for their pro-immigration and social services rather than anything else. I don't know that they would vote the same once they are in the upper economic level.

Atheist Europe is almost all socialist and church goers are in a minority

So the freeloaders are mostly Muslims or atheists? And both hate Christians.

Talk about the killing the goose that lays the golden egg. I hope their chickens eventually come to roost.

If you lived in their economic circumstances and had to move to a country just to survive, and everyone there hated you because they were christians (ironic eh ?) you would sign on for whatever was going with the rest of em

So what country did the European atheists move from?
