Biometrics apt., twice?

I filed the I-485 and I-130 concurrently and received my initial NOA/receipt around March 24. I soon realized that I should have also sent in the I-765, so I sent it in about a week after my original package/submission.

Since then I received my biometrics appointment notice for my I-485 around March 30. The appointment was set for April 15. By the time the appointment rolled around I had already received my NOA/receipt for the I-765 I had sent in afterwards. I brought the I-765 receipt to my appointment and when they did the biometrics they stamped BOTH my I-485 and I-765 notices. Just a few days after this biometrics appointment I received a notice in the mail with an appointment date for my biometrics for my I-765 application. The notice date was April 11, BEFORE the appointment date where I actually went in for my I-485 biometrics appointment and also had my I-765 receipt stamped.

I called USCIS to see if this second appointment was still necessary, since I had my biometrics done and had the I-765 receipt stamped in the meantime. I was told, that yes it necessary and they must have just input my biometrics wrong and I'd have to redo it. My gut tells me that the woman I spoke to didn't quite understand my explanation, so before calling back to reconfirm I thought I would check here first to see if you have to have a separate biometrics appointment for each application. I hadn't given her any info on my case ie name, application # or anything.

In the end if I don't figure it out for sure, I'll go to the appointment time to be safe and if its redundant and they send me away so be it... but I want to be sure first in case I can save myself the hour drive.

Thanks in advance, I hope this has made sense

If they stamped your I-765 you should be fine. The bio for I-765 was sent out before you went to the other appointment, so they didn't know at the time that you were planning on getting them both done. I don't think the people at the misinformation line can legally tell you to miss an appointment, and I don't think they understand either. Does your I-765 have a touch on it after your biometrics?

Try calling back to see if you get another answer. I have called the 1800 # and got conflicting answers before. its frustrating!

Just go to the first appointment and show them both paperwork. Thats what I did a few days ago. Lady checking me in asked her supervisor, "WHY ARE THEY GETTING TWO APPOINTMENTS" Then the supervisor said, "NO PROBLEM, WE'LL DO BOTH AT THE SAME TIME"

My I-765 doesn't have a touch on it since my initial biometrics appointment. Based on this, I'm guessing I would need to go for the second biometrics appointment?

Onto happier news, I received my initial interview appointment letter for my I-485, I'm to go for the end of May! I'm pleasantly surprised, I thought I'd be waiting a little longer. We sent our package in mid-March.
