I'm just getting things together to file the I-130. My Brazilian husband was originally married in Brazil. I need to get his divorce decree from Brazil and have it translated into English, correct? Does he no longer need the birth certificate, just a copy of his passport?

Where do most people get translators?

There is no requirement that translations be done by a certified translator.....only that they be translated by someone conversant in both the english and foreign language and certify the translation as such.

Copy of passport is not required to be submitted by the beneficiary with the I-129F filing. It is only one of the things that a petitioner may submit as evidence of US citizenship.
