Hi Vj'rs! I sure hope anyone is able to help me out on this one!

I'v been reading a lot through this wonderful website, still fall on some concerns about the medical exam.

I'm sure a lot of you have allready gottn through this, to those and other I ask for replies :)

The immunizations, can you go get them at your personal doctor in advance and ahead of the medical exam?

Xrays, can you get them ahead also?

Blood testing? What do they test you for ...

And, have read that the 'drug-testing' is pretty thorough? Or is that not even part of the medical?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but 'hair-sampling'? That could track your drug history for years ..

+ is the medical diffrent from country to country?

You can have your immunizations done by your personal doctor ahead of time, yes.

For the x-rays you could phone the medical center to be sure, there are only 2 for immigration purposes in Belgium.

The blood test when I did it was for HIV and syphilis, not sure they still do Hiv.

They don't do drug testing, though you will be asked if you have taken some I believe.

I believe the X-rays is for the chest. I believe after a TB test shows that your are positive for it, you have to get a chest x-ray to show that you don't have a full blown from of TB. Testing postive on a dermal (skin) test does not mean you have it. TB can lie dormant for years before it shows it's ugly head whenever it pleases.

I'm pretty sure that's what the x-ray is for.
