Yes, Dubai and Saudi, also Kuwait (my fiancé worked there) you will NOT be required to get a police clearance from these places as you cannot obtain unless you are a current resident. Now if you are STILL there, then probably you can get it.

It was the biggest source of a headache for us. The consulate, gave SUCH bad information. They also told us, unequivocally that we HAD to have it. I lost so much sleep. We were contacting lawyers in Kuwait, the US Embassy there, considering flying there in some effort to get it.

I had scoured the forums here as well and never come across info for Kuwait. Finally after months, I found some random thread from the US Embassy in Manila where someone from there posted the proper reply to someone else who had asked the question, "if you cannot obtain police clearance, of course we can't expect you to supply it"

Such a huge relief.

My fiancé had lived in Thailand too, so they DID require that, which was a pain to get, but doable. They never asked for the Kuwait one at all.

Question about getting police clearance, I checked on the links that was given earlier and I cant find the United States

My wife stayed in the US for 13 mos, does she need to get a police clearance? If yes, where?
