To be doing this during Holy Week shows G-d is indeed speaking to him !(perhaps through 'conviction'?) . He is bringing up the subject of G-d, so he must be thinking about G-d.

And that is a good thing.

I was reminded of Luke 22:31-32 while driving today and saying a prayer for the OP.

With his doubts he has on his Atheism he will one day see the light. His strength will then grow as his spirit grows. No true Atheist lays awake at night and thinks of God. No true Atheist will come and post this during this most holy week unless God was trying to reach him and that was why he lay in bed thinking of God. I also have said a prayer that he sees sooner than later. I will say another special prayer this Sunday for him. He is so close to seeing but his spirit is weak. God bless.

I don't have any doubts. The topic is very interesting and this is a "RELIGIOUS FORUM", or is it not? I understand it pisses you guys off and you like to come at me and say: 'You make 3 threads a day on this topic' when I rarely start topics on the subject....Reality is I might have posted 5 topics in the last 3 years. Guess I really got inside your head to make you think otherwise.

If Heaven was real wouldn't this life on earth be like a sick and twisted game that God created? But guess what this line goes through every believers ear and out the other. They don't like to hear the truth.

If there is a Heaven then why are we here for a few decades? Heaven is trillions and trillions of years + infinity of pure bliss. For a couple decades in this life BILLIONS OF PEOPLE HAVE DESTROYED THEIR chances of going to Heaven. That is such a sick and twisted game.

Any "God" who creates such a short game (1 to 100 years) that involves 2 end points: Eternal Bliss or Eternal Fire is 1 sadistic ####### (He really is a ####### - or does He have a Da-Da?).

The scare tactics of hell have worked on you but I'm not buying it. You can say 'you hope you are right' and 'you'll find out one day' all you like.

Wait a sec. You want to use an empirical argument that: 1.) There is no GOD and 2.) GOD has a twisted sense of justice. Firstly, let me talk about GOD for just a bit. You state that you have never seen GOD, thus HE doesn't exist; Science says so. Science tells us that entropy is the natural order of the universe. Cosmologists and Astrophysicists tell us that in the random chaos of deep space, there is order. Order in chaos, think about it. This would suggest that some higher consciousness it at play. Now you if you want to argue Solipsism, then ask yourself if it is possible that there is a consciousness beyond your comprehension. Most of us have difficulty digesting the concepts of advanced Biochemistry or other complex subjects, there are many things that Science can't explain such as why these unresolved phenomena occur. They happen with or without Science or your input. Your body does things regardless of your will, random events conspire together to function. If you claim randomness then it would be a huge coincidence that all these events coalesce to reach fruition. If you ever look at a flower or a sunset think about how incredibly long the odds are that all the random events made it happen then you probably will come to the realization that that much randomness strains the bounds of credulity. Think about it.You wouldn't park you car in a no parking zone, would you? Your car might get towed, on the other hand, your car might sit there for weeks. You play the odds and you don't park there. You get insurance for your house from flood damage, fire, etc. Think about it. You don't know it something could happen but you prepare. So, then, what's your beef?

Secondly, GOD is unjust. You are typing your response, you have all your faculties intact, you have a full stomach and yet you want to complain about the shoddy treatment by GOD. I don't get it. Let's talk about damnation. If you do something against the WILL of GOD you go to HELL, that's what you're saying. The actions we are talking about are, dangerous or vile actions and certainly will cause problems either to yourself or others. So why did GOD create us and make us suffer? The better question is wouldn't you want to do everything in your power to ensure that you reach HEAVEN, if this life sucks so much. It's laudable that you worry about others, but if you really worried about them then you'd help them find GOD so they wouldn't go to HELL. Belief or disbelief doesn't create something; you may not believe in quasars but they exist nonetheless. Whether or not you believe in HEAVEN doesn't change the reality of the situation. GOD forgives a lot, THE LORD isn't infamous but HE IS LOVE so just because you have some issues with religion doesn't mean you should abandon HIM; HE hasn't abandoned you or do you believe that your safety and good fortune are just random events. Think about it!
