Hey,

Has anyone been troubled before for submitting affidavit as an alternative of birth certificate? The affidavit of mine has got the name of the hospital where I was born and I only have a photocopy of the discharge paper mentioning my birth from the hospital(original lost :( .........will this be sufficient?any suggestions?

An affidavit is not a pure alternative to your BC. It is required either when

* your municipal BC is unobtainable in which case you also need a statement to that effect from your municipal office.

or

* your municipal BC has error / omissions.
