Um, actually, they are. That's why they're in a highest paid position and not one of the lower paid positions.

I wonder how successful Steve Jobs would be managing a company that has tripled its stock price in the middle of a global recession without good engineers, marketing, and sales people. That happen to make a lot less money than he does.

I guess he is building all those ipods by himself, making strategic forecasts, executing the marketing, etc all while being treated for prostate cancer.

I had no clue who you were. I mean, there are lots of people that post in every thread I'm in "Slim, you have a criminal record" instead of presenting counter points and intelligent debate.

At least the rest of them are posting stuff semi-related to this thread. You're sticking to your same old, boring, tired, "But slim, you're a criminal."

The people chose to adopt the form of government that incarcerates suspects without trial. I didn't volunteer to stay in jail while charges were pending. I would've gladly saved the state some money and sat my happy a$$ at home.

I'm glad you brought up restitution. I've paid my fines and fees. You can stop arguing that one now.

You've paid the fines and fees, you have not made real restitution, you have not paid what your poor decisions cost the fine taxpayers of the state of Ohio.

What is real restitution?

I satisfied the court and the people. Does that not satisfy you?

If he was equal to his employees, wouldn't they all be doing that?

Perhaps he is a little more special!

In Sparta, Steve Jobs would dominate the Spartans with an app

Thats not her point. Her point is he can not do every task the company needs to function.

I get her point. But what she's failing to connect is the fact that Steve Jobs could work on the line in Hong Kong but not everyone on that line could make (good) strategic decisions for the company.

What I keep hearing is everyone is equal. Everyone is not. Some people are better than others. Better at doing jobs, better at life and just better people in general. For whatever reason, many people in the US have a problem with that.

Maybe it's because we teach "team" in schools and everyone gets a trophy for playing T-Ball?

If you apply this opinion to education, Slim, what you are saying is that you would support a two tier education system, where people seemed "talented" get the bulk of the investment and everyone else is written off with the bare minimum.

Absolutely I would.

We should do a better job of screening folks before putting them through a cookie cutter education system. Not everyone can be a rocket surgeon. Some folks don't need to ask, "would you like fries with that?" The problem now is we "educate" both equally.

Albert Einstein

Here's a snippet:

"Humble Beginnings. Born on March 26, 1876 in Ugh, Germany, Einstein grew up and was educated in nearby Rotterdam. He was not, as many might expect, a "Teacher's Pet." Far from being an obvious genius, young Albert was actually unable to speak fluently until he was nearly 12 years old. If he stood out in class at all it was because he was known for eating large amounts of paste and was said to have smelled of "dill pickles and peanut butter.' His hair was unruly, as were his rumpled clothes, and he would sometimes act out in class by barking or snorting loudly. Because of these disturbing behaviors, classmates sometimes referred to him as Schweinhund, meaning "pig-dog." He was so troublesome in his classes, in fact, that, by age 10, he had become notorious both in and out of school as "the Rotterdam Rotter." One of the many antics that earned him this title was remembered by his mathematics teacher, Gunter Ghartrich. "Albert suddenly released two bats he had captured the previous night in his attic. He did it during a lesson on quadratic equations," his teacher recalled. "Soon, the entire classroom had cleared out as the two swooping 'flying mice' buzzed and shrieked above our heads. Seven students were injured in their panic, an expensive tennis racket had to be mended, and a large fire extinguisher was left in need of a recharge." "

Let's send that kid to "Fast Food Academy"!

We already do.

By sending academically gifted kids through the normal classes at public schools, we discourage them from doing anything with their talents.

Not really.. maybe true in really shitty inner-city schools. But still there are magnet programs, AP classes, etc to help these gifted students.
