There was a professor who did an experiment similar to this where he told all his students the student with the highest grade would set the score for everyone. At first, several students were trying really hard to get good grades yet the majority of the class did absolutely nothing. After a few weeks, there was only one left who was doing anything at all. On the day of the final exam.... he was absent.

Since the fianl exam was 80% of the grade, the whole class failed.

Neither Alla or I are liberals. My GPA was 3.8, hers is currently 3.93. It is only so low because it is a masters program in English which is not her native language.

And what? No, you cannot have any of my GPA. I will also make sure that I keep as much of every dollar I earn for my family (they are the ones I work for)

That's my point. Typically when the group is assigned to "carry" the weaker links, they kill them off. We haven't actually killed them in our society but we have no problem moving away from them and leaving them to fend for themselves with "some" of the rich folks' money.
