Of course you do...

No one agress with TARP, but it's absurd to try and compare a 'bailout' to normal day-to-day taking of billions from taxpayers.

Despite rare circumstances, most corporations pay hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars in taxes while a family of 4 will get back thousands of dollars they never even paid in.

So let's not try and play that game.

The fact of the matter is here, we are talking about people who will sit there and demand money from one person, yet are not willing to give it themselves.

This isn't about other jacked up things in the tax code, so try to stay on topic.

A better comparison would be changing the grading system around a bit:

Highest score (richest) is 10 million As

Lowest score (poorest) is 10 million Zs

If the richest would give up a higher percentage of their As (taxes) converting them into some extra Zs so that the poor Zs can get some food and access to health care they will still be an A student and have more As then they will ever know what to do with...

They really can't compare because wealth is finite where as grades are not.

Example:

If grades worked like wealth the teacher of a class of 20 might only have 40.0 GPA to award. Therefore the students performance would only matter in comparison to the other classmates. Under the current infinite system you might have a gifted class with 19 of the students getting 3.5 GPAs (on a 4.0 scale). Then that 20th student is getting a 4.0.

However if we used GPA like wealth that one student might still get a 4.0 because they are the best and that leaves 36.0 GPA for the rest who are equals....that means those students get 1.9 GPAs which are failing.

Neither wealth nor GPA points are finite. If more people got 4.0's, then everyone would do better. Trickle down academics.
