Sponsor for fiance petition

I have a question for the interview part of the fiance petition. I am currently unemployed and will be using my cousin for the affidavit of support. I can provide previous years taxes but they do not reach the poverty guidelines of $18,387. However, my cousin makes $49,000 approximately a year and with my fiance and her dependent, for 3 people she only needs $23,162 right? So her salary should suffice?

Also, I am a bit confused as to which affidavit of support form needs to be filled out and what documents would I need from her?

First read the guides at the top of the VJ home page.

You will see that for K 1 cases the 134 form is used & submitted just prior to the interview.

Second make sure you check with the embassy to find out if they allow the use of co-sponsors on K 1s. If they do the co sponsor would submit the exact same info as you are required to submit. You will submit the 134 even if you are not working.

ok I was thinking in printing both out and filling them out just to be on the safe side and have more rather than less. I am starting to wrap everything up.

I prepared both affidavits of support (just to be absolutely sure), but we were not asked for anything, at all! It seems to be the case that in Santo Domingo petitioners are not really asked the affidavit, yet you should have it in the rare case that they do ask for it.

Best wishes! (F)

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.
