With everything else it seems to take up to 30 days for them to update all of their information so if it's been over a month and they still don't have you in the system I would keep trying to call them.......

2010-02-08 Filed I-130 through Ca. Service center

2010-13-08 NOA 1 Received

2010-02-11 I-130 transferred to Tx. Service Center

Yes, the automated responses are correct. But it is not updated right away. So what you hear from automated system today, you may hear something different tomorrow. It is better to talk with an operator in order to get the most updated status.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Julie, it may take from a few days to a few weeks for the service center to forward the case to NVC. You can try and e-mail them - if you're not getting through on the phone - mention your NOA1 number on the subject line.

Also, talk to a live operator. The automated system doesn't work too well (or at all) for K1 cases. Call either super early in the morning or late at night. Good luck!

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

I just called and at the prompt for K1, it said it was transferring me to an operator. (So I hung up because I am not the USC!) I assumed based on that, that K1s must speak to an operator. What kind of automated responses are you getting? Also, their info says you can only speak to an operator between certain hours... not late at night. ????

No, the beneficiary can call too. I've done it many times.

No, you (beneficiary or USC) can talk to live operators from 7:30am to 12:30am (EAT).

I just tried calling. They have no record of my case. They said that until the petitioner gets the letter in snail mail, they can't do anything. Well, let's hope he gets a letter then. And that he gets it within the next 3 days before he goes overseas for 3 weeks.

Correct  And to extend on that...as must a K-3. The automated system is only good for those doing CR/IR-1 immigrant visas as I-129F's for K visas are only at NVC for a short period of time in comparison.

That's odd. It's one thing not to have the case there yet from the service center. And a different thing not to be able to assist you before the petitioner gets the letter. They are able to give you information, as long as the case is there, even if to say "we got it on 'x' date". Call again, try another operator.

Thanks. I thought it was weird too. I will wait a day or so, and call again, since she did say they didn't have a record of it. So much for the days when they got it within the week!

CSC's been taking some time to forward the cases to NVC. That's probably why they still don't have a record of it.

Definitely talk to a live person, (I've gotten through very quickly every time when I called at night, ET. 8,9pm) The system always said they didn't have it, untill the operator said they got it, approved it, and sent it "yesterday" That was Aug 30th or so. less than a week after it was approved. (Re-approved I should say, I think it's faster for those cases that already passed once through NVC).

On the other hand, the consulate still doesn't have it although they have the "data load" with my info.
