How many days a file/application will be with a Visa official

Hi fellow VJ members,

Our I-129F NOA1 date is: 10/28/2010. I am the petitioner.

I have contacted my local congressman's office. They are very helpful.

After checking with USCIS, they informed me that our application is with the visa official from 04/14/2011.

I am wondering what/when i can expcet the approval(hopefully no RFE).

Is anybody else in this scenario?

Who told you it was the the visa official?

Usually, that's a good sign

We filed at the same time back in October. Still in "Initial Review" at USCIS. I haven't yet spoken to anyone at USCIS, but sent an email to my local congresswoman and hope to hear from them and see if anything's happening or will happen, soon. This waiting and waiting and waiting gets more agonizing for each day we go past the "normal processsing time" it feels. Need strength to carry on! This is HARD to do!!

Usually, that's a good sign

The case worker at my local congressman's office told me that she contacted USCIS and she is told by the USCIS (I amm assuming it is not first level customer service) that my petition is with the visa official from April 14th.

Whether it is coincidence or not, I received approval email and message few minutes after I sent email to my congressman's office.

It is almost 6 months.
