can't you also buy in the usa and send your fiance and e-ticket? that gives you more options and you're not at the mercy of the vn travel agents. paying with your cc also give you benefits and flexibility etc.

Quan, that's true..if you're not time constraint and able to find the fare that you're happy with..do it! Most time you can get cheaper fare in SG and especially on last minuate..

Thanks Ronnie! I just called one of the travel agency and they said one way from VN to U.S. is $898.00 cash! Yikes! That's a lot for a one way trip...does anyone know any cheaper rates out there?

I am looking at RT flights in the next month for us and the fares are 1800+ for long flights and a Korean Air through Seoul is 2300 for us.. one way for us in 1100ish.. 898 one way is pretty cheap if it was an East coast flight..

But how legit are these travel agents over there any way? I was thinking of telling him to go directly to the airline and check for the price himself...he wants to fly back with me in July on EVA, I really don't like any other airline.

Here is what happened at the interview...my fiance came to the consulate around 8:00 and was interviewed around 10:30 by a young Anglo-male, the interview was over before 11:00... my fiance first greeted the CO and the CO greeted back.

After the greeting, the CO ask to see the following evidence: pictures, letters, airline tickets/boarding pass, phone bill.

The CO examined the pictures very closely at over 200 pictures my fiance had brought, the surprising thing is, the CO did not look at the engagement ceremony photos!

The CO also looked very closely at all the written letters and gift receipts we had sent to each other.

After looking at the evidence, CO began to ask my fiance the following questions:

1. Who is the petitioner?

2. How do you know your fiancee? Who introduced you two? Where does this person live?

3. Is your fiancee married? How many kids does she have?

4.ARe you married? Do you have kids?

5. How did your fiancee arrive in the U.S.?

6. What does your fiancee do for a living? who's her boss?

7.Do you have any relatives in the US?What are their names? Where do they live?

8.Did you both have an engagement ceremony? How many people attended? Did anyone from her side of the family attended?

9.How many times has your fiancee visited you? when was the last time you saw each other? (we chatted online 2 days before the interview, so I took a photo of us chatting on Yahoo Messenger, and I told my fiance to show that to them, in case they ask that question )

10. When did you propose to her? when was the engagement ceremony?

11. Who are her friends? Co-workers?

After all these questions...the CO gave my fiance a pink slip and told him' Congratulations!" you can pick up your visa on 4/28! Hope this helps!
