In london the wait for police certificates is apparently 40 days, and it usually takes that long. This will make the date of receipt for mine approximately the 10th october. i should be receiving packet three shortly, /but i'm worried about sending it back straight away in case they give me an interview date which is before the expected police certificate date? anyone else in london tell me how long it took for the cert/interview?

40 working days, just in case you have included weekends.

I would check to see who else has recently gone through the process on this board and see how long theirs took.

I've got mine. It did take 40 days.

You go into your local Police Station and ask for the form. Fill it in with your address, any previous address if you have Criminal Convictions etc. They know exactly which form you need the WPC I spoke to was lovely asking where I was moving too and wishing me luck with the whole process

I took mine away to fill in. Then give it back to them with the cheque. They then send it off to Scotland Yard.

You have to file from your local police station and you can't get the form from anywhere else but there.

Ah well i sent it off last week after i read about them on here, and got the receipt today (and my driving licence, thank goodness). was yours working days or real days? it looks like real days from the receipt thing i got today...

Real days. I sent it in July and got it the back end of August.

I'm sure it will be with you in plenty of time for your interview.

Oh and just a thing, for anyone else trying to get the police certificate, i got the form off of the web somewhere, i can't remember where... but i know there was a thread on here somewhere. And it's definitely the right form, it says 'subject access' on it.

My fiance is sending off his police report request tomorrow...he knows a fella who apparently got his police cert back within a couple weeks. Here's hoping they are all so speedy

My forms were sitting here pointlessly for two weeks because I misread the information.

You fill in some of the forms and post them back immeadiatly

Then apply for all your bits, when you have them there's a checklist you tick off, send it back to the embassy and then you can arrange medical dates and hear an appointment for interview

I have my long form birth certificate now, waiting on my police report also

Don't forget it needs to be from the right area! I had to look on Cheshire Constabulary website for mine, as I live in Runcorn.
