Well what can i say, well here is a brief outline of how my day went.

Appointment was scheduled for 08:30 and i was at the embassy by 07:30 and there was a line of about 10 ahead of me. I was asked to show my Interview letter (packet 4) and also my passport and my MRV Visa receipt. I then waited in the security line and we were called forward 4 people at a time. We were reminded that no electrical items were allowed. Once through security i went round and up the stairs to be greeted by a receptionist who asked for my MRV form only and he scanned the bar code and gave e my ticket number I902.

I was then asked to go take a seat in the waiting room and wait for my number to be called forward, there was about 20 or so people aleady in the room, all with different applications and various ticket numbers i was 3rd in line for immigrant visa as the numbers start with I900 for immigrant visa.

I sat there patiently but nervously waiting for the screens to start displaying the numbers, there was no air condition so i was sweating like mad as if i was waiting to be executed ( not that i have ever been in that situation but i can imagine how it must be) 8am exactly the screens started there were a few non immigrants called and then at about 08:10 it was there I902 to window 1 please!

i took the long walk up to the window and was met but a nice Chinese lady, she asked me for my ticket numbers that were given to me by reception and my passport, she then asked for my police certifcate and birth certificate, she wanted originals and copies SO MAKE EXTRA COPIES. She then asked for supporting evidence from my lovely lady so i handed her over an employment letter and a copy of the I134 i told her that i had W2 and 1040 but she said no thats fine i dont need them, i think once they see an employment letter they take that only. I then told her i had supporting documents from my co sponsor but she didnt even want aything from her even though my lovely lady doesnt make enough money.

Shortly after she asked for 2 passport pics and i haded those to her, she then said ' these photos are really bad im not sure i can use these the quality of the paper is not great' i mentioned to her it was from an approved photographer to which she accepted. Once all these documents were taken she gave me a pink courier slip and asked me to fill it in and then wait to be called forward.

I went back and sat down, at this point i was desperate to use the toilet but no way would i go because it said on the pink form if u r called to a window and miss ur number then you wil hae to reschedule your interview! there was no way i was doing that for the sake of my bladder!

I then bought a coffee from the back of the wating room and sat down, at about 0830 i was caled again to window 15 wich was in a different hall i was the greeted by a very friendly american gentleman by the name of Howard who looked a little like Santa. He didnt really ay much other than how did u meet and when you get to america make sure you leave plenty of time in between flights as each POE has different processing times. He then explained to me about the courier service and how NOT to open the brown envelope and this must e handed it at POE. He then said looking at your skils you should have no problems getting a job and then said congratuations i wish you the best of luck for your wedding THAT WAS IT BIG SMILE ON MY FACE!!

Ithen wet to pay for the courier service which was about £14 for standard mon - fri between 8-6pm although there was the option to pay a little extra if you WANTED IT BEFORE 8AM, 10AM OR 12PM, i paid a little extra and opted for before 10am. THEY DO NOT TAKE CASH OR AMEX AT THE COUNTER.

I then left the ebassy and that was that really had a double sausage ad egg meal from Mcdonalds and now enjoying the lovely sunshine!

All in all it took 90 minutes for the friendly process, i would reccomend getting your photos done elsewhere as the machine in the embassy was not working.

Just hope the Ryal Wedding does not delay the postal system now as i was told by Howard!

Good luck Uk filers and hope this has been of help!

Congratulations!!! :D
