Yes that's what I think it is, too!

I know of a similar case where a Moroccan, did the same thing in Germany with a German woman. Once his "brothers" arrived in Germany that was the beginning of the end and from that point on she seen him less and less.

I think that a lot of Americans develop an anti foreigner view BECAUSE of cases like this. Hey it's fine to get married to someone from a foreign country, BUT then you have those that want to bring their whole family-friends and countrymen over ... and that is not right!

It's just my opinion. I don't want to hurt anyone’s feelings, but this is a forum and if people have a different point of view then they should be allowed to post it.

I think there are plenty of people who want to bring their family over and it's not necessarily indicitive of anything. It's only natural, I think, to want to be around one's family.

I checked the dates for bringing over a brother... at the moment they are issueing visas to people who filed in 1995, so 11 years is the current wait time...

as your husband has yet to become a citizen add 3 years on to that and you will be about right.... about 2020 would be a good timeframe to go by...

I would stick to 20 years. If no complications.

Hubby on K1. First AOS - up to one year (Total: 1).

Eligible for citisenship - 3 years after AOS 3 (total 4).

Citizen/Naturalization 1 (takes up to 1 years, for ME/NA region on spousal visas could be longer) (Total 5).

Petition/Approval of petition - 12 years. Approval 1 years, plus Waiting for visa number 11 years. Thats minimum, in 5 yrears will be lomger. (Total 17).

Visa In consulate processing, Approval, Interview, AR/AP - 1 year average - Total 18 years.

exactly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ya there is a small mosque but i only seen one muslim woman and thats in the city next to mine

Yep.. And whats is so, that he knows, but doesnt want to tell... Heh. Shifty fella..

I would also go for 20 years - in round numbers. If it is a couple of years less then you are on the fast track.

It would not surprise me if some of these categories were dispensed with, can not see why I should be able to sponsor my brother.

But begs the question why he came here, our final choice was based on my Wife's large family versus my very small one. So I came here.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I think the husband should worry about his own immigration first. AOS process is long and expensive. Citizenship process is long. My uncle came by the family 4 petition after waiting 11 yrs with the petitioner becoming a green card holder back in the early 80s. 18+ years was the time frame in 1981 and I cant imagine how it could be shorter now.

About the comment on being muslim. I am muslim but I dont understand why other muslims have to bring the issue of lonliness and no mosques etc. Dont come here if you have those issues. We come here to become to work, raise our children in a safe environment, and become part of the country living quietly and peacefully. We all give up something by moving away from our countries. Thats a choice you make. Its not upto the govt to make sure that we overcome lonliness etc.

Very good point. No offense, but family ties, etc should have been taken into account when your decision on where to live was made. I'd live in a hut on the tip of the South Pole if Paul had to be near the penguins...if the decision was made for the US because he wanted out of Morocco or you couldn't bear to leave the US thats ok, but it's not ok for it to be a free pass for his family.

Just my humble opinion

And so he did what countless punk-rock songs had told him to do so many times before: he lived his life

10/07/2006 WEDDING DAY!

11/14/2006 AOS packet made it to 'the box' after being overnighted.

12/02/2006 Paul had biometrics

12/14/2006 AOS Forwarded to CSC AND AP Application approved.

01/17/2007 First touch of 2007 at CSC

01/20/2007 Touched AGAIN (also the 18th) come on...

February: Oops, RFE for a REGISTERED marriage certificate. Oops! Overnighted it.

02/28/2007 Paul gets email letting us know his GREENCARD is on it's way! It's done...for now!

03/09/2007 Paul's greencard arrives. And breathe...

We began with mailing the I-129 in on February 27, 2006 so the whole process took us approx. one year.

Good luck out there!

How do you "see" muslims? How are they identifiable to you? I am curious about this. It seems you are totally uneducated about your husband's religion. If there is a mosque, it most certainly isn't for one woman one town over who happens to wear a scarf.

The muslim community is a tight-knit one. If your husband won't go to mosque now with fellow muslims who will most certainly welcome him with open arms, why will he suddenly go when his brother comes here?

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.
