I am nearly 39 and not one gray hair, but being a red head, or if ya wanna get technical, strawberry blonde, my hairdresser says, red heads hair pigment lasts the longest and are the last to go gray,...woooooo hooooo lucky me....My hubby is 31 and has a few, 3-4 on his chest, none on his head.

My ex hubby started going grey at 19....LMAO.

You think 5 grey hairs at 23 is bad? I've been going grey since I was about 3 or so, and at 22 am around 50% grey ;P If I get any greys during the process something tells me I'm not likely to find them. Heheh.

Been dying since I was 13 or so, since it started embarrassing, but obviously, natural colors haven't been my favorite.

My dad has asked my mom to continue to dye her hair. She will be 50 in a month, and she says it makes her feel bad when she goes to dye her hair and wants to let it grow out naturally. She has red hair and doesn't have that many grays anyway.

This is not typical of my dad. I find this completely effed up. Do men have the right to ASK women to look younger??

Hmmm, that's odd. Your mom should be able to do what she wants with her hair.

Although I would respect Sujeet's opinions, I do what I want with my hair and not just what my husband wants. I cut it when I want, grow it when I want, dye when I want. He doesn't seem to care what I do. I don't like when husbands try to make their wives do whatever the husband wants for their hair. Sujeet may prefer it one way over another way, but he doesn't tell me how to do my hair. I know so many people(no offense intended) that say "if I cut my hair, my husband would kill me...", I just don't get that, its YOUR hair, not his.

I first noticed gray hair when I was 30. And it's been steadily increasing in number but not by much (have been plucking them ), and I just turned 38 yesterday.

Anyway, I read that some researchers think that we're born with a certain "amount" of pigmentation (sorry, don't know the right terms) for our hair. As you get older you lose more of this "ability" to produce hair pigments because you don't have much left. Apparently, when your stressed you tend to lose more hair. But this doesn't mean that your body will stop growing hair. You'll still keep on growing hair even though you're stressed but because you're constantly producing hair (because you keep on losing them), you're also using up the pigments available to you. That's just something I read.
