Ah, so only people who are chummy with people who talk about their status understand the problems posed by undocumented immigrants in the US? Good to know

Of course not but you act as if this doesn't happen that often. A attitude like that shows me that you dont see it for what it is.

I am not acting as though it doesn't happen. I am clearly saying that without proper proof all that is being done is speculate wildly based on stereotypical generalizations and people who are perfectly legal get tarred by the same brush and treated like ###### just because some smart ####### thinks he knows without having to actually obtain proper proof..

If someone should be arrested for doing something wrong then the proper authorities should go ahead and do their job. Ordinary citizens should go about their daily life without speculating on the status of their neighbours based on whether or not they look 'mexican' or speak English. Last time I checked this was America, not the USSR.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

That idea that "we" look at all Mexicans as illegals attitude doesnt cut it in AZ considering the population.

Does not cut what? Do you want all those who look Mexican, speak Spanish and perform manual labour who are legal to wear badges so they don't get discriminated against?

Lets look at companies that require hard work but pay little. Illegals are willing to work for less for employers that are willing to look the other way. Its makes sense to put these sort of companies under a microscope.

Some of it would obviously depend what country you are from. If you interacted in the that community you wouldn't need to ask anyone anything. I hear all kinds of things that I shouldn't hear or people shouldn't tell me. You don't have the interaction to understand what I am talking about. You have answered my original question based upon your experience and knowledge and I thank you for your input.

I am quite interested in what everyone has to say about this and how much they know about the underground, how the illegals get SS#, DL, etc, etc.

I can tell you that I used to live in San Francisco, and each block of the Mission is run by people selling "micas", fake greencards, licenses, etcetera.

It does, but it makes more sense to complement that with a work visa program for those who wish to undertake manual labour positions in the US. If the wages were higher for these jobs more US citizens might want to take them up but if they don't provision should be available for employers to fill those positions with foreign workers if that is necessary.
