We received our NOA1 for AOS from K-1 on 4/1 and the biometrics letter yesterday for 5/12. As far as I know, the case hasn't been transferred to CSC.

If it were to be transfered, would it have happened before or will it happen after receiving the biometrics letter?

I've seen many people who had their cases transferred and received their green cards without an AOS interview, and often before receiving the EAD/AP. I know getting transferred to CSC is no guarantee that there will be no interview, but is remaining with the local office a guarantee that there will be one? I'm mainly interested in the time it'll take to receive the GC, not the interview itself and just assuming that it will take longer if there is an interview scheduled whether processed at CSC or locally...

What I'm saying is we're still hoping for a transfer to CSC, no interview and to receive the GC in two months like I've seen a lot of other K-1s get but I am wondering if the transfer would have already happened by now if that were going to be the case?

I am pretty sure if it isnt transferred for faster processing that you will have a interview. However, it is still a possibility that they will transfer you going by your dates. From the statistics I have looked at the interview doesn't slow down getting the green card. Good luck!

Thanks. I was just wondering if getting the bio letter ruled out a transfer and it seems not to be the case. I see yours was transfered 4 days before you have bio listed in your signature but I'm assuming that was the date of the bio appointment, not when you received the appointment letter, correct?

I know it's something we all go through it but I guess I'm just getting anxious to get this all behind us and to be able to live a normal life again. And, I'm only the USC.. It must be 10x worse for my wife.

I know a member whose case was transferred to CSC before she received her appointment letter for her biometrics. I'm sure there are several trends you can look at and get an estimate of when you should have your green card in hand, but I wouldn't plan anything around that... As we all know, you just never know with USCIS!

Yeah I can imagine how it feels for her but more so for you. Right now your SO is very dependent on you. I was always afraid I would make some stupid mistake and he would have to go back. Paranoid dont cover it. We received the appointment letter maybe two weeks after we got the NOA1. Then just before his bio appt the transferred us to the CSC.

Take a deep breath and remind yourself that she is here and your married and in the process.....they cant take her and send her back at this point.

One other thing, and I don't know if it is significant or not, is that the letter for the biometrics appointment references both the I-485 and I-765 in one letter. I've seen where some people have received two letters. Maybe this means the AOS and EAD are both remaining in one place or, in other words, with the local office and there will be no CSC transfer?

You have to have bio done for each of these applications.....when they are filed with the AOS as a whole they combine the bio into one appointment. It is what they did for my SO.
