We all know touches mean nothing (or close to nothing).

Most of us have come to the conclusion that touches don't mean much when it comes to the processing of the case. The only thing they are an indication of is the case being worked on/moved/opened/etc. by someone. We've seen many attempts to read frequency/patterns of touches and nothing has ever really been concluded.

So the question is, why are we still so obsessed with them? Even though I know it means almost nil, I still check hourly to see if that little date has changed. And if/when it does change, I'm sure I'll be esctatic.

So what is it about touches that are still so appealing? Is it just knowing that your case is alive and well in the hands of the USCIS? Makes us happy to know it hasn't found it's way to the shredder?

Just curious as to what everyone else thinks?

Work is boring! What else are we gonna do? Touches DO mean something, they mean we're not forgotten or discarded, and that's nice to know!

Touches are better than no touches. it doesn't always mean you are about to be approved, but it does mean someone is looking at your file, and that at least means movement!

Haha! That's one of my main reasons too.

When work is busy, I only check a few times a day.

But on days like today, I'm checking every 30 minutes or so.

I think it's the perception that at least our application is being worked on. We like to know that something is happening, even if it's this big gray thing called a 'touch' that could mean everything or absolutely nothing. -.-; I'll be watching for those myself as soon as I get my NOA1.

A touch for me means that I didn't fall into a floor vent in the USCIS office, or get eaten by moths, or become a drink coaster, or used for toilet paper

Checking for touches translates to one of the following:

Innately #######

"Analled" by induction (think VJ site)

Peer-pressure ####### (Friend goes about being touched by text, e-mail, phone....etc...)

Love-induced "analism"

This isnt the first immigration process i have been involved in but it wasnt until i enrolled in VJ that i became touchfested. So i guess i belong to class 2 ####### but wait a minute, i called 603 334 0700 every day so i guess i am truly the genuine article...............class 1, baby.............INNATELY #######!!!!!!!!!!!!
