Hi All,

I'm asking this on behalf of a friend, but what is the normal wait time for AOS from a K1 visa nowadays? It seems like it

is taking longer than before. Is that correct?

Thanks,

SaraDee

it really depends on how long your biometrics takes, if you get an RFE etc. In my case it took over 5 months to get my EAD and 10 months total to get my green card. they kinda lost my file and never put me in the computer for a biometrics.

Also what type of visa is your friend adjusting from? that may factor in as well.

5 months for us, and like everyone has said, it varies a lot and can depend on what local office you're dealing with. I know some people in Texas who waited a long time to get their biometrics appointment.

Hi all, thanks for the responses. Wow, it does seem as thought the wait times are varying significantly. My friend is adjusting from a k-1 and did his biometrics in Los Angeles. Mine took 3 months or so and that was a with an RFE that took me a month to get back to them. I just wanted to see how long should someone wait nowadays before getting concerned. I guess 5 months is pretty normal and shouldn't set off alarm bells. Thanks
