It can take up to a month. It doesn't mean anything is wrong.. just tell your friend to try to be patient. They'll cash the checks and send the NOA eventually.. and until 30 days have passed, no one is going to look into it, so there isn't really any point in calling USCIS either.

It will come!

03/03/2011 - Day 0 - AOS -package mailed to Chicago Lockbox

03/04/2011 - Day 1 - AOS -package signed for at USCIS

03/09/2011 - Day 6 - E-mail notification received for all petitions

03/10/2011 - Day 7 - Checks cashed

03/11/2011 - Day 8 - NOA 1 received for all 4 forms

03/21/2011 - Day 18 - Biometrics letter received, biometrics scheduled for 04/14/2011

03/31/2011 - Day 28 - Successful walk-in biometrics done

05/12/2011 - Day 70 - EAD Arrived, issued on 05/02

06/14/2011 - Day 103 - E-mail notice: Interview letter mailed, interview scheduled for July 20th

07/20/2011 - Day 139 - Interview at Federal Plaza USCIS location

07/22/2011 - Day 141 - E-mail approval notice received (Card production)

07/27/2011 - Day 146 - 2nd Card Production Email received

07/28/2011 - Day 147 - Post-Decision Activity Email from USCIS

08/04/2011 - Day 154 - Husband returns home from abroad; Welcome Letter and GC have arrived in the mail

("Resident since" date on the GC is 07/20/2011

My friend filed her AOS this month. The packet was delivered on April 4th. No text/email notification ever since.....no NOA either....money orders were not cashed either....Anyone knows whats going on?

If she hasn't received a reply yet, it may be delayed, or returned for incompleteness, or legibility reasons.

ah hope no return!!!! when do they return it if it happens??

Don't rely on any online updates, whether its the case status or notification by text or e-mail.

I personally signed up for e-mail notification when I mailed my AOS package, but didn't get any e-mail updates at all until I received my NOA1 and then signed up for case status online. And then still was sketchy, like my wife's I-130 for me is to this day in status of initial review but she has received her approval notice and me my green card over 2 months ago.....

The only thing you can rely on is a piece of paper, one that you receive in your good old mailbox at your house.

And like the other's said, it's been not really long since the package was mailed, its been 12 business days only since it was delivered.

If, and only if, they would return it for any reason, then they would also return the fees and your friend just has to re-submit the package with the correction and fees needed to start again.

10/26/2010 - All applications been worked on aka touched

10/28/2010 - NOA1 Receipts for applications received

11/24/2010 - Received appointment for biometrics in the mail for 12/17 *yay*

12/17/2010 - 9.25 a.m. - 9.45 a.m. Biometrics done !!

12/23/2010 - EAD Approved and Card on its way - Email notification received *yay*

01/03/2011 - WOOOHOOO ...EAD Card in Hand!

01/04/2011 - Oh boy....Received Interview Letter today - February 3rd is the day! :)

02/03/2011 - Interview scheduled 12:45 p.m. - out of there before 1:30 p.m. - further review

Coming home, checking for touches at 5:30 p.m. - CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED !!!!

02/10/2011 - E-mail notification "Approval letter was sent today"

02/14/2011 - Welcome Letter / Approval NOA and Card (separate envelope) received!!! :D

Late November 2012 (have to look up my receipts ;) - mailed in ROC I-751

12/12/2012 - NOA 1, status extension received

12/18/2012 - Biometrics appointment letter received

01/08/2013 - Biometrics done

the main reason she worries about it because her money order has not been cashed yet.....which probably means they did not start looking at her application yet.....

Not sure when they cash money orders - its' different then just depositing a check, so that may be the reason why there's no update yet (what service did you use? Are they reliable on updating the cash process?)

Don't worry it took 28 days for us to get the Noa, did you send the package certified? If you did you Will have proof that you sent it and they received.

3/12/2011 we sent aos package

3/14/2011 package delivered

4/15/11 received noa1 aos,aed & por

4/23/11 received Biometrics appt for 5/11

4/28/11 successful walk in Biometrics

5/13/11 EAD arrive

5/16/11 APPLY FOR SSN

5/18/11 GOT PRINTOUT OF SSN

5/19/11 GOT MY FL DL WIFE IS SUPER HAPPY SHE DOESNT HAVE TO DRIVE ANYMORE.
