Hello All,

I applied for OPT last week and received the receipt today(exactly 1 week later). However, when I try to check the status of my application on the website after entering the receipt number I get this message:"Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283."

Should I call this number and ask the status or wait for some time before doing so? Please give suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

The website doesn't always work. A lot of people have received their visas or green cards or (insert immigration benefit here) without having their statuses updated. Sometimes, it just takes a while for the system to be updated. Just keep checking every once in a while. :)

Applied for Naturalization based on 5-year Residency

07/09/2017 - filed N400 online

07/10/2017 - NOA

08/03/2017 - biometrics done

02/20/2018 - interview & oath ceremony

Thanks for the reply. Does that mean I need not call them?

You can call if you want but I doubt you'll get anything useful out of them. The USCIS call center is notoriously frustrating as a lot of their responses are scripted. My guess is they will tell you to wait if you call.
