What comes next for Medical Exam?

So after USCIS lost our medical exam from his K1, we paid to have it redone for his AOS. Initially they quoted us $188 dollars, but after everything was completed we paid over $700.

My husband had the PPD placed knowing that he may react positive because of the BCG vaccine. Three days later his arm was huge and swollen, discolored, itching and painful.

We went back to the clinic and had a 1 frontal chest xray done, as required. They called us back on a Friday and said they saw "something" and that we should come in as soon as possible on the following Monday.

We decided not to wait and went to another clinic the same night and had a full chest x-ray series done. We were told that he had scaring in his right upper lung from an old infection as a child (no idea what kind of infection) and that he does not appear to have TB or any symptoms whatsoever. That clinic did give us a referral to the infectious disease clinic to follow-up in, and warned us that immigration may require my husband to take medication even though he does not appear to have TB. We took all of this information to the civil surgeon the following Monday who reviewed it and agreed. He signed off on the papers and said he would write that my husband seems healthy and not contagious but said that my husband should keep that appointment in infectious disease and again reiterated the possible medication treatment.

What is the likelihood that USCIS will require my husband to take medication based on these findings? If they do require this, how does it affect our case? Do they put it on hold until 6 months or a year of treatment are completed?? Can they approve us but monitor the treatment in some way? What does this mean in regards to our AOS I-485 application?

Thank you!
