Just another note someone clued me in that PAL has first time immigrant pricing that you can get through local travel agents. She was quoted $690 with a valid k-visa with cash. That would be a flight from Davao to SFO,

Also it would seem like PAL charges more from the website when you are ordering from USA when checking prices from the Philippines it showed it in PHP and the same flight number was a couple hundred dollars cheaper.

Thanks,

They convert dollars to PP, which they charge a fee for, and then, your credit card company charges a fee to exchange it back. So, I guess you should be able to get a better deal, if you don't have to pay the money changing fees. My then $680 ticket for her, ending up costing a bit more when I finally got the credit card bill.

As a plus, she won't have to go through the whole verification process when trying to get a boarding pass.

It happened to me too. My husband purchased my ticket from Delta on my way here in the US using K1 Visa. He needs to go to the Delta Office to verify it because my flight is originating out of USA. And now, I am on my way of travelling back to the Philippines with my conditional green card and the scenario changes. He called the Delta Office and the person on the line says there is no need to verify it because my flight originates/starts in the US not in other country. Hope this could help!

That's exactly what I was looking for. Seeing it directly from Delta assures me that's what I need to do. Thanks for the link.

In my own experience, my bf bought my delta tix online through my delta account (making sure that the country is set to philippines). He used his CC in purchasing the said tix. The bf called delta and advised them of the situation and was given the go signal for me. At the check-in, I was not asked for his CC nor his ID as well as the tax since it was already incorporated in my ticket.

Another option would be sending in photopcopies of you cc and a valid id - based on what delta was asking.

After my fiancee's visa arrives, I plan to buy her plane tickets through the Delta website. Hopefully for May 1st if everything happens according to plan. I am nervous about using my credit card to purchase the tickets because the credit card needs validated. I have read stories about fiancee's from Philippines not being able to use the tickets because of not having the credit card and picture id for it, especially with Delta Airlines. I believe I have also read about being able to validate it another way here in the US. Does anyone know how to do this? Do I need to go to the airport in Portland to do this at the Delta ticket counter? If I can't find a full proof way to do this, I may purchase them with cash at the airport or send the cash to my fiancee. Using a credit card would just be easier. Thanks.

I also live in Portland and I bought my wife's ticket through Delta back in September. I bought it online and had to go to PDX (to the Delta counter) to prove my purchase. I simply showed them my ID, credit card, reservation number (that I printed out after purchasing her ticket) and everything was fine. My wife didn't need to do anything on her side, other than show her passport and Visa.
