Amber,

I am kind confused here. I thought that the embassy in Cairo schedules interviews, not the NVC. Why you go through NVC to schedule your interview. I believe if your case made it to the embassy, they are the ones you need to talk to.

Oh wow...I totally forgot about the issues that Egypt had a few months ago. Man, I would go insane if something like that happened in India. Good Luck to you Amber. I have been away from my wife for a month and I am slowly losing it. lol. I am getting thru it 1 day at a time, but with something like a revolution that is out of your hands, it has got to be tough.

My brother filed for his wife right before 9/11 and it was massive chaos then to get her to come over here. I do not want anyone to experience something like that.

I wish you all the best, be safe in your travels and you stay in Egypt.

Dave, hello and thank you for your reply today! B-)

It is so weird that everything happened so quickly in Egypt, when I first met my husband he used to tell me how he longed for the day to see this happen. Then he would say but I am sure I won't see it in my lifetime... and I would say baby just believe and I would encourage him... then wow not even a year after our marriage, on a day to celebrate the police in Egypt my husband's dreams came true and I was there by his side!!! :wow: It was AWESOME!!! To be by his side and his family's side while their dreams came true. But also the nagging thoughts came in and we thought ok what does this mean for the visa process? Then the evacuations began and I refused to leave! I said no I will stay even longer now LOL... so with the embassy's closure the hard truth hit home for us, even our case completed just a week later :( .Still I believe the revolution is the best reward for the Egyptian people and to finally have the chance to say Egypt truly is ours, she belongs to the people! It was so cool to see the people out cleaning Cairo up and painting the street curbs. To see people celebrating together in Tahir Square, AMAZING! Everyone I came across walked taller and smiled and congradulated each other, Ahmed and I couldn't go anywhere without hearing horns honking (yes Ahmed was one of them honking his horn LOL) and seeing people selling Egyptian flags, it was an awesome time to be there. So now we pay the price of waiting and you know what I gladly pay that price when I stop and think of all that benefitted from this happening, it is just so worth it.

Thank you Dave for your well wishes and I wish you and your wife a smooth journey also!

Hi, its ok things can be a lil confusing, trust me I know! LOL Anyways I applied for a spousa visa for my husband, therefore the NVC schedules our interview. The fiance visa is scheduled by the embassy. So this is why our case is not yet at the embassy. Spousal and Fiance visas are two different things entirely as far as the government sees it!

Well it is official my fellow Egypt filers, Ahmed and I did not make it thru to a May interview, per NVC operator today. While I am so very sad and nervous to tell my husband, I feel like I still got to keep hope alive and keep faith. Though it is getting harder to do. I won't whine and cry though, for I have seen many of my fellow VJers in a far worse situation than me and mine. What I will do however is begin to transition my life so that I can join my husband in Cairo and wait out the rest of this hellish journey in the arms of my love. Nooooow what should I pack dry.gif ... hmmmm.... can I take an A/C with me or what?:jest: LOL just joking folks, got to laugh or I will surely fall apart... take care everyone and I wish you all the best! I am so sorry to hear that. This whole process is just such an emotional roller coaster but at the end of it all, when we are finally together with the loves of our life, none of this will matter anymore. Have a great trip and yes, if you can fit an A/C into your suitcase, I'd surely take one with me :)
