Well it is official my fellow Egypt filers, Ahmed and I did not make it thru to a May interview, per NVC operator today. While I am so very sad and nervous to tell my husband, I feel like I still got to keep hope alive and keep faith. Though it is getting harder to do. I won't whine and cry though, for I have seen many of my fellow VJers in a far worse situation than me and mine. What I will do however is begin to transition my life so that I can join my husband in Cairo and wait out the rest of this hellish journey in the arms of my love. Nooooow what should I pack dry.gif ... hmmmm.... can I take an A/C with me or what?:jest: LOL just joking folks, got to laugh or I will surely fall apart... take care everyone and I wish you all the best! I am sorry to hear this..what seemed to be the problem???They still not interviewing people??

The problem lies with the embassy. With the revolution came the embassy closure and with that came many interviews canceled. Soooo when the embassy reopened they had a backlog of interviews that they have to clear before new interviews are scheduled. Today I called the NVC and was told that our interview did not make it for May and that the NVC's scheduling had closed and I was told to call back in the 2nd week of May to see whether or not we will have a June interview.

This June will mark the one year anniversary since we filed for Ahmed's visa and Ahmed and I had set a deadline for ourselves that if we did not have an interview by May I would move there until he recieved his visa. This time and seperation and online marriage is beginning to wear us both down. So it is best for me to begin the transition to relocate and be by his side until we can get through this nightmare. While we are so happy to see the changes the revolution has made in Egypt we are sad to still be away from each other. I know many have waited longer than Ahmed and I, but every couple is different and has different limitations on what they can endure, and we have reached that limit. I wish you well and thank you for your concern and reply. (F)

So sorry to read this, Amber. I cannot blame you for going to be with your love for the rest of the wait. A month seems like an eternity when you're spending it on the other side of the world from the one you want to be with. I hope things look up for you very soon and I hope when the time comes I can remember to stay as positive as you have tried to be through this whole ordeal! Best wishes!! (F)

Sorry to hear that Amber...I feel your dissappointment. It's a challenging test that we have all chosen to embark on to be with the one we love, where sometimes a day feels like a month. My Ahmed and I had also figured on having an interview at least by this stage since we applied in August, now we are optimistically hoping and praying for it to come by the end of August. God willing we will have no more RFEs. I wish you the best on your transition to moving over to wait it out, nobody could find fault with that. Due to the uncertainty of post interview AP, we are planning on me doing the same thing, we are just trying to hold out until we have an interview date or at least have made it past NVC accepting and approving our documents. Hope things pick up and you get your interview at least in June...as always keep us posted.(F)

In the meantime, go spend your time with your husband and that will help you get through the rest of the process easier.....it's so difficult to be away from the ones we love for so long.....good luck to you and I'm praying that things work out well for the both of you. Much love.

Thank you for your reply.

Yes a month can seem like an eternity, sometimes an eternity times forever lol. Really the only true thing that makes all this worth it is knowing Ahmed loves me just as much as I do love him. So in the end knowing we get to have our lives together...which is so AWESOME! I know this will all have been worth it. Ahmed and my love for him is what keeps me going thru this. It is so cool to see how we keep each other strong, when I start to fall he catches me and when he begins to fall I say " hey baby I got your back!" So in the end we keep each other going. On the more positive side of this all... atleast we know in our future when times get tough we will keep each other strong and going... which I know to be a definate positive! Best wishes to you too! Yes it is a challenging test, but the reward is AWESOME! As you and your Ahmed had decided to do, my Ahmed and I also decided if he had AP I would go and wait it out with him, so this is following thru with our plans, just moving the date up a little. We wanted to wait for the interview before making the move on a as needed basis, but we figure now is as good of a time as any.

I pray all goes so smoothly for you and your Ahmed. I will for sure keep in touch I won't just leave VJ and all my fellow filers behind, I want to help anyone I can whether it is advice or finding solutions, but I will not be around as much due to final exams for school also with making all these plans... what will I do ith my house? my dogs? contacting all that needs to be, and of course scheduling a ride across the atlantic, just many things must be done in a short period...

But hey I will be with my husband so soon, and I know this time there will be no more "see you soon"s for us!!! Just Ahmed and Amber living their life TOGETHER... WAAHOOOO FOLKS!!!

Oh wow...I totally forgot about the issues that Egypt had a few months ago. Man, I would go insane if something like that happened in India. Good Luck to you Amber. I have been away from my wife for a month and I am slowly losing it. lol. I am getting thru it 1 day at a time, but with something like a revolution that is out of your hands, it has got to be tough.

My brother filed for his wife right before 9/11 and it was massive chaos then to get her to come over here. I do not want anyone to experience something like that.

I wish you all the best, be safe in your travels and you stay in Egypt.

LISAMARIE!!!!! YOUR BACK???!!! Ok I want to hear all about your trip! And was the long trip home dreadful? I have thought of you often while you were away. (F)Thanks for the good mojo towards a June interview. Here is hoping, but as Ahmed and I decided from here on out we will take it as it comes as long as we are together what does it matter the location? Ok well I will be honest I am very worried about the heat there! LOL You do know I am a snow bunny from the north pole (upper peninsula of michigan)!:P LOL! Anyhoo... I am so sure I will become a fish and stay in the tub all the day. But the important thing for us is to just get on with a normal life together as husband and wife, we have waited long enough.

Lisamarie!!! I am so happy you made it home safely! I prayed for you often, any news of an interview date? Are you missing your husband terribly? OMG GIRL WE GOT TO TALK!
