Well, I guess bad news is better than no news - but still - #######? I know I included EVERYTHING. I was SO vigiliant and detail obsessive. I sent every document, every form, signed every line. Everything was in order. I don't know what it could be.

I guess they sent me a letter today with the information about what is missing. Does anyone know, if I call the 1-800 number, will they tell me over the phone what the RFE is for?

Does anyone know, once I supply the information, how long it will take to receive approval? Like a month from now? Other experiences?

This is ridiculous...ughh!!!!!!

It took 5 days from email to hardcopy in mailbox so if you're lucky by the end of this week.

I scanned everything and prepared so the response would get thrown back to USCIS but you can't prepare for everything. They wanted proof of the USC had never been married. He he! We had to call them up and ask what on earth that was about; He, my fiance, hasn't been married before and it is rare to see them asking for that from a USC.

Anyways, good luck. You're already over the longest wait - remember that : ) But no, you won't know what the RFE is about until getting the hardcopy.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

Click timeline or "about me" for all details.

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days

I just don't know what it could possibly be for. I made a copy of the whole packet. We signed and dated everything. Included all necessary forms, copies of passport stamps, boarding passes (even two showing us on the SAME flight together), a dozen photos with dates, e-mails, Skype phone records, copy of my BC, copy of my passport, copy of his US tourist visa, his passport, the passport photos for both of us.......EVERYTHING.

I think USCIS is punishing me for calling to bug them about my case so much during these months.

I have no clue what it can be...hope it isn't something stupid - I heard USCIS lost another couple's birth certificate, and wanted another copy. Such incompetence.

Sorry to hear about your RFE, but it's not the end of the world. I've received them in the past and just make sure you provide them with what they requested, make copies for yourself and mail it in again the same way you sent your I129F. You are ahead of the game and it's an just a slight inconvenience. Best of luck to you and yours!! Time to prepare for the interview in CDJ. Keep your chin up and take care!!

After numerous calls to USCIS, my two Texas Senators and a Congressman, the latter got an "expedite" put through (if you can call a month and a week after ONPT an expedite). Just never let up! Even though mine took way too long, there were people who were a month before me and waited longer because they just sat back and watched. "The squeaky wheel gets the grease!"

I got an RFE before NOA2 and it was because I needed to supply copies of all the pages of my passport to prove I was in Chile in the last two years before filing. The RFE is a heartbreaker, but it can be resolved rather quickly...especially if it is something little. Hang in there!!!!

As stressful as it is, this means you're close to the end of this step. You can't do anything until you get the letter, but hopefully it will be an easy fix. Could be something as simple as you forgot to sign a form or information in one of the fields is missing. We got our RFE letter in about a week and within a few days of responding we had our NOA2.

Hang in there. Sounds like your close
